Thanks for the introduction to New South Scotland. Should things progress to the point of an Embassy at the level of the Realm, it may be of interest to have a consulate in our fair province.
Cézembre - TalossaWiki
I noticed the map on your site - should you wish to delve into details of the isle see this map
Definitions of a consulate location to be debated in l'Etats de Cézembre for Zone Autorisée would be made via https://what3words.com/
Thanks for the useful steer! Always glad to find a fellow map enjoyer. We have a French language capability within the Commission of External Affairs so that might be helpful, although I'll be the first to admit that our Talossan is more... *limitescu*!

More seriously, when I was first involved in micronationalism lo these many years ago there was a chocolate-themed micronation based in NSW/ACT, if I remember right, with whose citizens I became great friends. Honestly, micronationalism is a young person's game and I don't know why I'm still doing it, sometimes - but in the absence of trustworthy written history, personal continuity is the main thing that prevents a micronation crumbling up in the wind like so much other internet ephemera.
Our Foreign Minister has tried to explain to us something about the Austenasia coup but I couldn't make head or tail of it, so I back the King in inviting you to explain!
Many thanks to the King and yourself for your interest in New South Scotland.
Before getting into the Austenasian situation, let me just say that more than one New South Scottish citizen enjoys their NRL and A League! We have a few Raiders and Wanderers fans on-board respectively, not to mention the NSW Blues. In fact, I've even considered setting up a Spreadsheet NRL code for the Republic.
With respect to the Austenasian situation, in short there was a genuine rupture between the (now former) PM and the Emperor. Months of tension came to a head when the Emperor unconstitutionally called an election to dismiss the PM. While this was condemned by the public, the PM exceeded his mandate by calling for the Emperor's abdication. This led to a vote of no confidence in the PM, which he did not recognise, instead calling for an anti-monarchical revolt (basically a poor man's Cromwellian uprising...). The "scam" element of the coup only emerged at this point, as the former PM and some senior members of the Austenasian community essentially conspired to stage manage the uprising behind the scenes, with the goal of eventually reconciling the rebels with the legitimate government. When that deal was publicised, it led to a lot of recriminations and damage to Austenasia's otherwise relatively good name.
New South Scotland was already close to being independent when these events took place. From our perspective, the instability in Austenasia was the push we needed to forge our own path. We remain on good terms with Austenasia and are in the process of normalising relations, so no love was lost.
I agree that micronations are sustained by their people and heritage! That's why I'm proud that New South Scotland has over a decade of history to its name, and a small band of people to count on. We are always open to admitting more people - it's entirely commitment free and mostly ceremonial, we even have a few titular positions on offer.
I'd be happy to answer any other questions people may have about New South Scotland! It's been really great hearing from Talossans already.
