Messages - Munditenens Tresplet

#2
The party of DIEN is proud and excited to nominate Munditenens "Dien" Tresplet for Seneschal.

I would pledge to lead a unity government for as long as the parties wish it to last: both my opponents as co-Distains, equal representation in the Cabinet, no monarchy related legislation, and no VoC requirement. And of course, most importantly, our government would ensure that Péngöpäts finally becomes a province.

I stake my claim.

Just in case someone is concerned about operating under presumptions, I am pleased to assign 15 seats on behalf of DIEN to Munditenens ("Dien") Tresplet.

Now officially as an MC for the 59th Cosa, I am pleased to publicly declare my representation of the Péngöpäts constituency per Lex.H.9.

Is this just a ploy to exile the Royal Governor to Antarctica?

I would like to assign all 11 seats to myself.

Per Lex.H.9, I'm pleased to announce that I will be representing the territory of Péngöpäts in the upcoming Cosa.

Quote from: Sir Txec dal Nordselvă, UrB on January 20, 2023, 01:51:04 PMI'm genuinely curious and do not know the answer. Do we have people living in Pengopats?

We do indeed have Talossans living in Péngöpäts. As they tell me everyday, they are just as important as their fellow Talossan humans!

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on January 20, 2023, 01:52:17 PMI do not believe we have any Antarctic citizens.

I hope to elevate their status from simply penguin nationals to penguin citizens with the creation of Péngöpäts, the province.

Hey, I heard my name!  ;D

Seriously though, I think that suggesting there is a comparable difference between keeping the Kingdom of Talossa versus making Péngöpäts a province--or, more notably, any of the government reforms offered by the TNC--is a bit of a strange argument.

Of course, the Monarchism versus Republicanism debate always ranks as being high importance; however, if our Monarch is removed, how would a government function any differently without a monarch? I would argue that campaign platforms on the basis of government reform or coming up with new ideas for government functions would be all the more important if we became a Republic.

Moreover, the question of whether our penguin nationals should be able to stand beside their brothers and sisters in their own full fledged province is one that no longer should be brushed aside over human squabbling about the "scoundrel" in Colorado. They are just as vital to understanding Talossan-ity as is our King, and they deserve to have their homeland made a province!

Quote from: Marcel Eðo Pairescu Tafial, UrGP on January 19, 2023, 04:32:04 PMI was a bit disappointed to see that my party was the only one to give any statements, to be honest. Would've been interesting to see the thought process behind some stances.

I think it was because adding statements wasn't as user friendly in the form as just simply checking Yes or No; you had to select the "Other" option, spell out whether you were yes or no, and then add your statement. Maybe in the next Talomat, the form could include an optional box below each question for a statement?

Luc, is it too late to add statements?
