Do we have a sense of who will moderate what? More aptly: what will be the structure/organization/script of this event, if any?

As Túischac'h, I shall be moderating, however the current structure shall be a speech from the throne governmental plans for the 55th Cosa (in this case the Regent), a rebuttal by the leader of the opposition, any speaches by the parties minor (altho being that the current smallest party is part of the government, the may speak as is there right, how ever will asked to not retred old ground covered in previous speeches) and short speech from myself as to future discourse and conduct within the chamber

Could we get times for this? Thanks.

Times are being discussed at present, however the current plan is 5pm EST on Saturday.

The Lobby / Re: "Point of Order" from the Senats to the Cosa

I have had a think on this, there is two ways to do this, one would be to allow the senators, technically however they do not have a voice in the Cosa. Macro governments whom have party leaders whom are not members of representatives or parliament, by appointment of a member of the party whom oversees the party's interests within the chamber, to be the one to speak to the chamber.

The Hopper / Re: The Make The Ziu Actually Read This Stuff Bill
« on: October 19, 2020, 03:53:46 PM »
I would like to offer the following amendment...

Quote

1. El Lexhtax H.6 shall be amended as follows:

Quote
6. No bill may be published in a Clark unless it has spent at least ten days in the Hopper as a legislative proposal and the Legislative Standing Committee of the Ziu has considered and reported upon it, except according to H.6.1.

1. A new section shall be inserted after H.6 of El Lexhatx, as follows, and the subsequent sections renumbered accordingly:

Quote
7.1 The Legislative Advisory Committee of Talossa A Legislative Advisory Committee of Talossa (in Talossan, el Comità da Redacziun Legislatïu; and hereinafter, "the CRL") shall accept review or revise all bills all legislative items from the Hopper as described in H.6 above upon the request of their sponsor or sponsors; and, when so requested, they shall recommend acceptance or rejection, or shall make amendments in their best judgement examine them clause-by-clause, then adopt by majority vote a report which may include a recommendation to accept/reject, and/or suggested amendments.

7.2 The CRL shall conduct all its deliberations openly in the Hopper.

7.3 The CRL shall consist of the incumbent Mençéi, Túischac'h, and Avocat-Xheneral.

7.3 A bill upon which the CRL has not given a report within 30 calendar days shall be considered to have been approved for the purposes of H.6.

7.4 Unless the Mençéi and Túischac'h agree otherwise, the Mençéi shall chair the CRL and the CRL shall consist of all MCs and Senators.

I thank the honorable member for his invitation to weigh in on this piece of legislation.

The amendment proposed is agreeable to me and the added responsibility to the position is not, to mind, an issue. This is a added requirement for each bill to be read and checked before going to a vote. I do however question if this "power" be wielded by the few? For example, an international government by the name of the United kingdom and northern island, the chamber requires a majority to agree for a bill to be put to a vote. It would be the speakers job on when and if this "vote to vote" will be called, however it is common practice for them to agree with the majority.

Cézembre / Re: Sénéchal election
« on: October 19, 2020, 03:21:48 PM »
Acting as regent for the crown, I hereby wish to act in the stead of Cézembre's governor and appoint on behalf of His Majesty King John the following officer, and do bid him to perform his duty to the Organic Law and the nation to the best of his ability:

Glüc da Dhi S.H. as the appointed agent of the crown for the purposes of running the election of the Sénéchal of Cézembre in the upcoming election.

I make this appointment upon the request of @xpb for intervention in this difficulty and upon discovering that @Glüc da Dhi S.H. earlier expressed such a willingness to serve, and with apologies for the delay.

HUZZAH!

And here's me hoping I'd get an official uniform like a john Bercow mask or a betty Boothroyd outfit, as the title of the act would suggest  xD

As I have yet to be appointed as Túischac'h, I agree, there is no need for further comment after this. It feels very much a political menover rather than for anything directly what AD has done to warrant it.

Another opportunity for humility has been wasted. Where an olive branch or some constructive sentences would have sufficed, you chose antagonistic and agitative rhetoric.

That rhetoric has no place in a court of law.

This is disgusting btw.

If you offered me a job, put me through an extensive senate vetting procedure, concluded that I was right for the job, and then only after the elections had passed suddenly decided based on some vague reasoning. I'd be upset. The arrogance of immediately demanding humility and expecting an olive branch is breathtaking.
