The Senate / Re: Do we have a Mencei?

You can also just type @ and the first few letters of a name and it pops up with names to click.  Sometimes bugs out, but it often works fine.

That said, complaining about not being tagged in the thread is not the issue to focus on here.  It's totally the job of a Senator to actually come to the Senate and keep apprised of the business of the House.

No one is complaining about not being tagged... but when it is written that someone is 'paging' certain people, and neither an email, direct message or tagging is done, then it is not correct. I know you never enjoyed my presence for reasons best known to you, so I don't mind your words, but please refrain from spreading rumors.

Paging the Senators from Atatürk, Maricopa, and Cézembre. The public at large requires your attention in these matters; the selection of the Mencei is an Organic action.

Paging? Haven't received any PM/DM/Email on the subject.

@Açafat del Val , it's best to directly link the persons in the body, so that they get to see the messages even if the Witt is accessed only for a couple of minutes on the go.

I too concur with @GV 's nomination as the Mencei.

Not much

You'll have to go through this page once again.

Perfect opportunity. Thanks!

That link you provided contains a broken link to an old KoT.net page that no longer exists.
A couple of night ago, after doing the site redesign on Talossa.com, I went through every page and tried fixing all the broken links that still had Kot.net as their destination (there were loads).

This page here has everything College related:

Hopefully all the links work and are not broken; and all the information on these pages is up to date and relevant.  But, it would be great if the College wants to go through all this and let me know what it needs changed or fixed.

Thanks for sharing the link to the new site.

However, can't help if the designers don't do the needful to preserve the original resources.

Btw, the correct link to the page is: https://talossa.com/royal-civil-service/college-of-arms/

The new website also requires some changes, especially on this page:
Whom should I contact for making changes to this page? Its outdated. Lot many former citizens are shown.

Maricopa / Re: Electing a Premier
« on: September 03, 2020, 11:08:17 AM »
So we have two candidates for the office of Premier.

@Dr. Txec dal Nordselvă and @Txoteu É Davinescu

Accordingly, let's vote. The vote will expire in one week on August 31 at Midnight TST.

Members of the Cabana who have staked a claim, please vote in this thread.

The current members of the Cabana are:
@Dr. Txec dal Nordselvă
@C. M. Siervicül
@Danihel Txechescu
@Txoteu É Davinescu
@Béneditsch Ardpresteir

Shouldn't @Txoteu É Davinescu called for the votes in the first place?

Have you been able to go through my personal message?

The College of Arms / Invitation to the CoA
« on: August 02, 2020, 11:16:35 AM »
@Açafat del Val,

Would you like to join the college as a fellow? Can use a helping hand (that too an active one).

Dean BenArd

Getting worried that there might be a bit of an unfairness in the system in that parties can use (and are using) the electoral database to advertise their senate candidates, but senators not affiliated with a party do not have access to the same resources.

Perhaps the law (and the privacy settings in the database) should be changed to allow senate candidates access to the electoral database.

Especially, since the present Government of Talossa wants to fleece individual Senate candidates to the tune of half the party registration fees for the Cosa.

The Hopper / Re: The Ranked Choice Constitutional Referendum Bill
« on: June 23, 2020, 01:09:47 PM »
The Senator from Maricopa also does not seem to understand that, in a ranked-choice (IRV/PV) election, there isn't a "second round".

Of course, many true sentences can be made of the form: "The Senator from Maricopa also does not seem to understand that..."

Yes... and with each passing day, I care less and less about what happens in Miestra's Kingdom.... err Republic.

Para 3 of her vote count scenario does talk of the second round of counting. I think one of us actually is a simpleton. You better not teach me a ranked-choice vote, for in an RCV with multi-choice, the winner gets a majority in the final round.

I don't know if many sentences can be written about Ctx. M... but definitely she and her coterie are responsible for the non-participation of quite a few otherwise well-meaning citizens. It's not that they don't want to, it's only that - they can't.

The Hopper / Re: The Ranked Choice Constitutional Referendum Bill
« on: June 17, 2020, 08:52:41 AM »
With a referendum of 3 choices, the present government composed of many republicans actually want to turn this country into a Republic by hook or by crook.  Even with a minority vote in its favour, there are high chances that they may succeed in the second round.

Well played, Miestra ! Definitely a move that you'll win if the citizens fail to see through you.

NON on both

The Hopper / Re: REAL COSA 2020: A new model
« on: June 06, 2020, 12:32:51 AM »
Another practical difficulty, but maybe for the good, might be that a winning party would probably have to have hired hands to work as ministers, for not all 10+ members might not be active enough to do the duties of the presently 8 ministerial roles. In a way, practically all elected members would be ministers.

Wittenberg / Re: To whom is the Senator referring?
« on: May 27, 2020, 01:04:03 PM »

I never did make any efforts to learn the language apart from those used in the CoAs. Does the word used mean a 'No brainer' or the racial slurry 'brown nose' [nas - m: nose; braneu - a: brown] ?

For statements made in the Senate, I'd would have rather answered there. Who I hold responsible doesn't make a difference. I am only urging the Nation to make good our policies to such an extent that those citizens who are a blot on the name of the Nation should not be allowed to re-enter Talossan if they choose to quit.

ESB, I hold no personal grudge against you apart from the fact that you singularly was responsible for waste of my time, effort, energy (and probably some money too spent on internet time) for designing the CoAs for the sock-puppets.

If BenArd doesn't ruffle the feathers once in a while, Talossa just goes into non activity. ;)

Love Talossa too for the love it has shown towards me... I am probably the only one, who despite being the prodigal citizen, was once searched by many a Talossans and a poster created for this very purpose.
