The Cjovani Ziua Auservada Bill was changed to reflect comments BY the CRL. Why would this prevent it from being clarked?

Quote from: Ian Plätschisch on May 23, 2022, 05:46:38 PMI would like to re-Clark the Compromise on the Compromise Amendment

I have two questions: 1) Has the bill passed the muster of the CRL? and, 2) What is the link to the bill so I can Clark the correct version.

Thanks.
1) Yes, it passed the CRL last term
2) https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=848.0

Mr. Secretary I would cite this as precedent where you allowed the bill in question above to be clarked without another approval of the CRL. Am I mistaken?

Thanks Ian. Corrected.

Túischac'h, my answer is below:

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on April 18, 2023, 03:07:35 PMBefore I continue: I acknowledge that the Seneschal has stepped back from the Scribery, reducing his list of "hats" from six to five, which is at least an improvement.

Supplemental question on this point alone, please, est. Túischac'h:

QuoteThe Government is composed of five ministers and one deputy minister. I am not sure that qualifies as two people doing "everything."

Given the following facts:

1. The Minister of Technology has previously said that he actively wishes not to be called to the Ziu, i.e., not to have to do his constitutional job;

2. The Minister of Defence is being precisely as active as the previous Ministers of Defence against whom the TNC used to howl with contempt for inactivity;

3. The Seneschál is doing STUFF and Foreign Affairs' jobs for them right now;

can the Seneschál comment to the extent that the present Government is abiding by the suggestion contained in El Lexhatx D.1.1.1?

QuoteThe Ziu requests that the Seneschál only appoint Ministers that will actually do something, and not just make petty titles.

I do not recognize the three items you assert as facts as actual facts. They are opinions not supported by reality.
I was delegated ministerial responsibilities by Minister Vilacafat due to an acute illness which required his hospitalization. Thankfully, he has recovered and resumed primary ministerial responsibilities. All of this was communicated in an open and transparent manner. Minister Excelsio has made Zouaves appointments and detailed his activities in the Foreign Affairs portfolio as a response to another terpelaziun made by Senator Platschich, I believe. He has legislation concerning establishing embassies in the Hopper currently, as well. Finally, Minister Txechescu may have expressed reticence but has actually answered every single terpelaziun in detail and on time.
I remain extremely proud of each member of this Cabinet as they have kept the promise we made to the Talossan people to be an active and accountable government.

I have no comments on Lexhatx D.1.1.1.

National Skills and Social Connections Survey Act

Whereas, the TNC pledged during the recent campaign to create a citizen skills inventory which will be used as a part of the Service Corps Initiative in compiling a voluntary knowledge base of those possessing useful professional skills in potential government service for use by incoming administrations in search of technocratic talent, and

Whereas, as a part of this effort it is planned to introduce optional questions to the upcoming National Census, and

Whereas, the relevant section of El Lexhatx C.1.2.2.2 is as follows: "Other questions on the Talossan Census shall be identical to the questions on the last census. These questions may be changed by the Chancery, either of its own volition or on request from the Seneschal, but any changes shall be approved by the Ziu, without needing to go through committee. These questions will be marked as optional, and at no time shall a citizen be forced or required to respond to an optional question.", and

Whereas, the Chancery has recently articulated an interpretation of existing privacy laws which allow for government use of the National Census for this effort.

Therefore, the Office of the Seneschal submits this request to the Chancery to include the following additional questions on the next census and submits same to the Ziu for approval:"

QuoteNational Skills and Social Connections Survey. The Government of Talossa presents the survey below as a part of its effort to build a voluntary inventory of citizen skills.  This will give the current and future governments a way to conduct an orderly and knowledgeable search for people with the needed skills and a preexisting desire to serve. The survey also includes optional areas to make miscellaneous interests and/or hobbies known in an effort to foster social connections between citizens.

I possess the following skill(s) available for occassional and voluntary use in service to the Kingdom (Please check all that apply):

Service Corps Initiative. As a part of an effort to assist with recruitment of skilled volunteers the Government is collecting information from citizens concerning their available skills and their willingness to use them in service to the nation. In the space below, please describe skills and experience which you possess (ex: translation, social media management, database administration, website editing and maintenance, etc.)

I first want to thank the Chancery for publicly stating their interpretation of privacy laws and their impact on the Government's proposal to use the Census. In order to comply with this interpretation I will be making revisions to the above-quoted proposal for consideration in The Hopper soon.

Quote from: Sir Lüc on April 23, 2023, 01:38:25 PMI made a new version of the new theme that should fix the icons problem. Let me know @Sir Txec dal Nordselvă, UrB @Üc R. Tärfă @Breneir Tzaracomprada if you want me to switch you over to that to test it out.

The new version also switches the font to Atkinson Hyperlegible, mostly because I like it and what it stands for, but also to unify the UI to a single font across all devices, which helps preventing all sorts of weirdness. (We're fine to revert to a different font if people don't like it.)

Any other person who wants to try the new font can let me know here, and I'll switch you over to the new version.

Yes, I would like to be switched over too.
