Max would drive this country over the edge.  I absolutely do *not* want IV as King.  I'm sure he's a good man in general, but he would be too much of a politico (one way or the other) and would alienate half the country.

If either were to be elected appropriately, that would be a different matter.  To have any sort of seniority system could conceivably allow the infamous Daviu Ardit to make a return, putting him first in line to the throne.

He would be trumped, though, by a potential resurgent G. Conâ who would be too much of a Ben-partisan.  Gjermund would be fine, but a seniority system would be manipulated in the future to make sure one faction's people by a future rogue SoS would be naturalized one day earlier than those who would lean to another faction.

Conceivably, Ben Madison himself could convince enough of the country to allow him back in, making him the next monarch.

She styled herself as "King" and seems to have been a remarkable person.  From everything I've heard and read, she only took the throne as a favor to Ben and was more than happy to give it back to him.

Florence was a giant of Talossan history, serving as king from 1987-1988 when she abdicated in favor of Ben Madison, who was king again until August 2005.

She actually died in 2022, but when I got a death-anniversary reminder for John Eiffler, I thought to see if anyone else had passed away.  The one I could find is Florence, and the photo in the above obituary matches that I remember from seeing her in Ben's Talossan videos at Ben's coronation in 1988.

From that video and from all accounts, she seemed exactly as the obituary says she was: possessed of a keen and flamboyant style of teaching and much-beloved by all who knew her.

RIP, Florence.  I wish all of us in Talossa (including I) could have known you.

Unfortunately, there have been times where it has been effectively as if MPF has been abducted by aliens...which is why we need to move on from the database now.

It's not fair to MPF or to the Talossa people.

That is what I am saying, but we need to make sure we don't need to make another database change five years from now.
