I mean, I hate to give the old narcissist tyrant props, but check out the front page of talossa.com from 2001. KR1 explains the basics very clearly, although not-very-subtly demonising his political opponents.

How about this for a start:

The Kingdom of Talossa is an independent, sovereign nation in North America which seceded peacefully from the United States in 1979.

Talossa has sometimes been classified as an imaginary country or "micronation," but according to a statement approved in a 1993 referendum, "The Kingdom of Talossa is a community of persons having fun by doing things which are reasonably similar to what other ('real') countries do, whether for reasons of tourist nostalgia, out of a lust for power, in pursuit of parody, or -- yes -- as nationbuilding."

Talossa is not a computer game or a role-playing world. It is an ongoing political adventure, and foreigners are invited to become Talossan citizens and participate. If you are in Talossa, you are a major figure in Talossan politics. There are no "winners" or "losers" except from election to election, and from bill to bill in the legislature. Talossa is real life politics, only smaller and more accessible. This home page is your invitation to come and participate!

Since Talossa erupted onto the Internet in 1995 the country's population has ballooned from about 20 to more than 150. There are many webpages world-wide which feature a link to this page, and Talossan citizens have used the Internet to provide a variety of news, political, and other services to the population. Many of the links in this page are to the work of many people, who all share a common dream of making Talossa a fun place to be in.

It has been my opinion since ages ago that new Talossan citizens no longer know exactly how to "be Talossan" when they immigrate...

I would especially like input from @Tric'hard Lenxheir, who I believe was the last person to actually become a citizen. But older citizens might want to think back in time about how they were helped to become Talossan.

We can start by putting a link at the top of Witt to this page: http://wiki.talossa.com/TalossaWiki:New_Citizen%27s_Guide - I've made a few judicious edits.

Note I'm completely reorganizing and updating www.libraryoftalossa.com - uploading the Wiki backup files to that gmail drive is a laborious process.

Attn, SoS: 56RZ10 stipulates Lex. H.21 is to be deleted.

When I look at http://wiki.talossa.com/Law:El_Lexhatx#H._Legislation I cannot find section 21.

However, I see that section in your revision from 9 November 2021:
http://wiki.talossa.com/index.php?title=Law:El_Lexhatx&oldid=28212#H._Legislation

There is an element to this I am missing, however.  Thanks for all you do, as always.

LittleWarsTV I discovered today.  It's really quite enchanting.

This video takes us to Geo. Washington's 'Christmas miracle' of 26 December 1776 in which was made the famous crossing of the Delaware River.  Historically, Gen. Washington wins the day, but can he do so again two centuries later?

Sad news. RIP, Brook, and Semper Fi! I'd call for a PD of mourning, but I don't know if we do those anymore.

Thanks for letting us know, GV.

If this were during my time, the PD of mourning would have been photo-filled with lots of detail from Ben and JJ.  Happily, modern practice is to proclaim a day of mourning.  I strongly expect I was the one who put to bed the practice of prime-dictating governments and what-not.  lol

I'll have to read JJ's works to be sure, but I strongly suspect Brook was in Talossa solely because he happened to know JJ in the Marines.  As to his flourishing, I put that as ca. 1985-1990, possibly coinciding with JJ's coming-out (which is common Talossan knowledge).

It was fun meeting Brook, and I miss the Talossan Old-Growthers.

Just now, I received an inscrutable email, which I add to the end of this post.  That email will explain why I'm making this post now.  Talossans are dying, and we barely know when it happens.

Brook's obituary: https://www.startribune.com/obituaries/detail/0000326482/

I met Brook the once: TalossaFest 2003 at Lytheria in Milwaukee.  He seemed to be a jovial and nice man.  He also was clearly the character TNN et al made him out to be.  The place where he would always stay in Milwaukee was called 'the Brook Motel'.

Brook's flourishing in Talossa was alongside JJ with the latter's Talossan National Party.  No party leader seems to have had a more loyal subordinate, and second only JJ himself, Brook is probably mentioned more times in TNN than anyone else, including even Ben and Davron.

Rest in peace, Brook.

Hello, I would like to count on your collaboration to pay a small tribute to William Holbrook Glaefke (Brook Gläfke), who as you know passed away in 2019.

I am trying to locate the only piece of information that appears about "Yevolkian Free State" that he apparently communicated in 1985 to the King of Talossa.

The information that appears in some publications is so vague that I want to know from the first source, Talossa, if they could provide me with more information about Yevolkian.

Thanks a lot!!

So yes, I think you're right about all three statements you made.  This has been discussed before many times; this bill would allow the Ziu to change the size of the Cosa; and 200 isn't a magic number.  But none of that actually addresses my question: what's the reasoning, here?  Why would we do this?

Future-proofing.  Should Talossa ever experience the sort of growth we've always wanted (and which Ben-Talossa should have had in the late 1990s), we will need to expand the size of the Cosa.

There is nothing in this law to change your precious 200-seat Cosa.  And I actually agree with you: we don't need to change the size of the Cosa...at this time.

Near to the end of the above is the Final Report on the Royal Archives' now-concluded three-year overall plan.  In the months to come, a new multi-year plan will come, perhaps.

Then again, so much was done in 2020...

Wittenberg / Talossan ABCs song
November 11, 2021, 10:24:29 AM
Here is sheet music for a draft of an English-language 'Talossan ABCs' song.  I tried to make a proper recording, but it turns out the new mic I had gotten off Amazon is little better than the cheapo 'internet mics' that sell for less than $20.00 and sound like it.

Therefore, I'll be shopping around for a new (and much-better) mic soon.

To that end, what you all think of the 'Yeti'-branded USB mics?  Thanks, all!
