Wittenberg / Re: [PRÜMĂ] Talossan ID Cards - free!

Quote from: Barclamïu da Miéletz on April 15, 2024, 03:45:40 AMLet's hope DHL doesn't ship it because when my card arrives while I'm at school, they'll just leave a note telling to pick it up at a designated postal office.

1) Why is that an issue? I've had that happen to me a bunch of times and it's not that big a deal.
2) If the package is flat enough to fit through a mailbox slot (as I expect it will be), chances are they will just put it in your mailbox. That's what happened to me when I ordered playing cards online.

I had already passed the Civics Test once, but I can't find the link for applying for a card. What should I do?

I apologise for barging in, but is it possible to adjust the spelling to merely Belacostă or would it require a new poll?

Am I seeing this right? 5 applications??? This is so exciting!
I haven't applied yet, I don't know where to file one.

Cézembre / Re: Provincial anthem?
March 30, 2024, 03:30:24 PM
To be honest, I'm kinda glad that Maritiimi-Maxhestic doesn't have an anthem to replace. Knowing what Ian von Metairia was into back then, this could've ended horrendously...

Quote from: Marcel Eðo Pairescu Tafial, UrGP on March 27, 2024, 03:39:04 PMPablo is the Spanish version of Paul, which is Pol in Talossan.
I couldn't find any info on the name Dapena, though it probably doesnt mean "pitiful".

In fact, the surname "dapena" it´s not spanish, it´s portuguese. It´s the portuguese version of "de la peña" (literaly translated "from the rock" or maybe "of the rock" ), that would be my first surname in spanish.

So, I don´t know how would you manage that.  At the moment we have Pol  ------  Lupulescu.

Ah that's simple then: dal Timă (of the rock/cliff)

So your name would be Pol dal Timă Lupulescu

Quote from: þerxh Sant-Enogat on March 27, 2024, 03:31:46 PMCongrats ! I encourage you now to choose a Talossan name, and go on building Talossa's history with us all. Welcome to our Nation  @DJ_POLE !
Might appear as rude but I have researched and translated his name to Talossan. Pechein Schampeir Figlheu da Lúpul is the result. Can someone correct me? Or is it already correct?

It's too literal.

Pablo is the Spanish version of Paul, which is Pol in Talossan.

I would translate Lopez as Lupulescu.

El Glheþ Talossan / Re: Unified orthography
March 11, 2024, 06:20:31 PM
Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on March 11, 2024, 02:39:04 PMWe more or less completed it. It's the orthography as referenced here: https://wiki.talossa.com/SIGN:Dals_Recomend%C4%83s_s%C3%BCr_el_Glhe%C3%BE_Talossan#Orthography

Or rather, no attempt at a Unified Orthography was made, thus my personal recommendations assume that role. I suppose if there was widespread discontent with that arrangement someone would've told me during the last four years.

Quote from: xpb on December 24, 2023, 03:09:26 PMThis just popped up in my unread items.

Perhaps a better method would be to adopt https://www.swatch.com/en-us/internet-time.html which establishes 1000 coordinated beats per day.

Aah, glad to see I'm not the only one who knows about @.beats!

I thought about a system of like it centered on the GTA years ago, but I didnt go very far with it. If there's demand for it I could remake it.

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on June 09, 2023, 03:02:10 PMWould that Persian text I sent you be an appropriate model? If not, I've got a dozen others at home

I've tried basing it on the Persian one as well but the languages are too different at times. And I looked up Teach Yourself French online and that one isnt a good basis either since it barely explains anything as far as I can tell.

Do you have an Italian version or something? Maybe we can work with that.

I started a draft for a Teach Yourself Talossan book a couple of days ago, you can find it here.

Since I'm not sure yet what to even teach, much less in what order to teach it, I ask everyone who is interested in this to help me out. You can post comments and suggestions on the link above. I can't do this alone.
