As this prospective did not respond to the request for her to take the Oath of Citizenship within the allowable time, this petition will no longer be considered and the prospective immigrant will not be granted citizenship. Should she wish to become a citizen, she will need to undergo the full immigration process.

It is my pleasure to open call for bills of the May 2024 Clark.

Eventually, the clark can be viewed in real time here:

www.talossa.ca/files/cosa_vote_result.php?cosa=59&clark=6 (for the votes)

and here:

www.talossa.ca/files/clark.php?cosa=59&clark=6 (for the bills )

It is NOT too late to submit bills, of course, as you have OFFICIALLY until the morning of the 30th of this month, provided your bills have been in the Hopper before end of business day the 15th, of course. I will make the Clark on May 1st's morning and bills submitted up to a few hours before that will probably also be taken.

PLEASE note that in order to support a bill, you need to:

1 ) Be a Senator, the Secretary of State or the King
or
2 ) Have been nominated as a Cosa Member for the upcoming Clark BEFORE the 15th,

To vote on the Clark, you will once again have 2 options:

1 ) You will be able to vote in the Clark thread (which will be created later on the 1st of May), as usual. I will enter your votes in the DB.

2 ) You will be able to vote directly in the database, using your usernumber and DB password (which you can retrieve at: www.talossa.ca/files/login.php using the PSC of the election) or by login via Facebook (which retrieve manual activation on my part).

Azul leaders of Maritiimi-Maxhestic,

The Chancery is preparing the 59th Cosa election and needs to confirm details regarding your upcoming Senate election. The Chancery has details that the election for senator is NOT run by the Chancery, is this correct or should the province conduct the election?

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on April 22, 2024, 08:36:13 AMI'd be happy to take a crack at it next month, if that'd be amenable to Txec.

Beyond that, I would politely request that we really do need someone else to keep an eye on the voting.  If not the heads of the legislature, maybe the CpI?  We simply can't have a secret ballot for something so important that relies entirely on the absolute honesty of one person.  This is no reflection on anyone personally, but it's just good governance not to trust anyone so much.

Sure, the process should be collaborative. I have some thoughts on the rules, but they aren't fully formed yet.

As for who monitors the votes, why not use the Electoral Commission? We could simply stipulate in the bill that the most recently seated EC are the proctors or some other term overseeing the ballots.

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on April 21, 2024, 10:39:24 PMBTW, there is a problem that, as far as I read El Lexhatx H.2.2., named sponsors of the bill must be MZs, which would exclude the actual author of most of this text. Am I reading that right or can Baron Davinescù's name go on it (if he would be happy to do so given that I've made crucial edits)?

Unfortunately under OrgLaw VII.5, only a member of the Cosa, a Senator, the King or the Secretary of State can submit legislative proposals. El Lex H.2.2 does allow all citizens to draft legislation, but it must be sponsored by one of this mentioned in OrgLaw.

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on April 20, 2024, 12:28:28 PMI added, "No votes for ineligible candidates shall be considered."  That way the SoS can't be forced to recuse by nominating him, but also can't receive any votes.

Are you suggesting then that whomever the SoS is at the time of a convocation, he/she cannot be selected?

Pardon my intrusion: I will be notifying the provinces shortly about the upcoming election and making sure each province gives me their preferences. Until then, no need to message me. I prefer all election discussions take place in public, with the exception of issues that only the Electoral Commission can address.

Thanks!
