I am in agreement with Uc Tarfa.

In fact he (Uc Tarfa) probably refers to my post which now stands deleted/lost.

Ideally, to my understanding, the Red should be for the Upper House (Senats) and the Green for the Lower (Cosa).

Plus, am not at all in favour of using the facade of the Merill Hall for the Senats as well, since our Senate is housed in the Greene Hall and not the in an unified building a la Westminister.

Can't help if the Herald(s) choose not to heed the SKA's observations.

With the change of my email address, have created another wiki username 'BenArdSKA' in addition to the earlier used 'BenArd'.

Request you to kindly approve the new ID for edits. Or else, if the email id can be changed in the earlier account, then it may be replaced with the new email shared with the Chancery.

Thanks.

Since DT is going to vote for you (Dr. Nordselva), then there should be a real candidate... so I nominate myself.

Window panes in heraldry is uncommon, but still it exists.

Why don't we substitute the portcullis with the distinct windowpanes of the Greene Hall and the Merill Hall for the Senate and the Cosa respectively?

Fiôvâ / Re: Going down the merger path again

If there's a complete overhaul of the National Register with reassignments according to present catchment areas, I'd favour a merger.

However as the law stands as on date, I myself refrain from my personal relocation to Fiova (especially since I don't find comfort in entering an otherwise 'Republican' zone).

Your Majesty @King John ,

I am humbled and honored by the faith reposed in me. Hope I would put my office to good use.
I would do wrong if I do not thank you, Count Thord and Sreu Siervicul for teaching me the nuances, and am equally thankful to the staff of the College who have always helped me out.

Last but not the least, am thankful to Seneschal Plätschisch for the recommendation.

With your permission, I would now like to promote the other two Heralds of the College to the now vacant chairs:

-      The Rouge Elephant Herald, @Dr. Txec Róibeard dal Nordselvă, GST, O.SPM, SMM , as the Squirrel Viceroy of Arms; and

-      The Noir Raven Herald, @Baron Alexandreu Davinescu as the Dean of the College of Arms.

The Portcullis has been used in various CoAs till date.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Portcullis_in_heraldry

House of Commons, has it over Vert, whilst House of Lords has it over Rouge. Combined, they have it over the Talossan Flag.

Food for thought... should we, therefore, change our National Colours too?

I further propose that that earlier list of the inactive has stood for a long time, and we should act with some common sense about these inactive folks, and be a bit more consistent. We should create the unnamed positions of Fellow emeritus and Pursuivant emeritus.  Heralds should probably be permitted to keep their titles for life, even when moved to an emeritus status, as now.  Then we should make the following changes:

The Odd Fellow, Iustì Canun, should be stripped of all office and privilege, and he should be formally ejected from the College.

The former Lookout Fellow, Sir Tamorán dal Navâ, UrN, the former Long Fellow, Davíu Lundescu, the former Well-Met Fellow, Tímoþi Asmourescu, and the former Oblivious Auditing Fellow, Pôl d'Aurìbuérg, should all be appointed as Fellows emeritus.  They are welcome to return and assume a named position at any time (assuming they are Talossan citizens at the time).

The Mellow Fellow, Owen Edwards, and the Jolly Good Fellow, Alèxandreu Soleighlfred, should all be moved from their positions and appointed as Fellows emeritus.

The Penzance Pursuivant, Sir Mick Preston, UrN should be moved from his position and appointed as Pursuivant emeritus.

Making these changes, since I think there's a consensus in their favor, excepting Cresti's fellowship (since he says he wants to stay active) and the striking of Iusti, since there's disagreement on that score.

-NRH

I would still insist on Emeritus status for Heralds and Pursuivants, and 'Former' status to Fellows who are no longer active. In academic institution too, former Professors acting as guest faculty are often given the 'emeritus' status, but not so for junior staff.

Plus our fellows do occupy a particular seat, so if we remove their seats from their designation, our records get complicated. On the other hand, the former tag shows that they had vacated the seats for newer recruits.

The Tudor Rose is definitely a protected charge. However as my fellow heralds have pointed out, this is not a Tudor rose per se, though it looks similar.

The inner curvatures of the present petals do give the impression of a double rose.  I would request the use of an ordinary 5 petaled rose, rather that the present one which gives the impression of a 10 petalled one.

We should not be hasty in approving this CoA.

The Tudor Rose (or English Rose) is normally reserved. We may think of changing the charges, until and unless the armiger shows why he is entitled to them.
