I will never, ever have time to do the deep-dives necessary to bring the histories of individual provinces to life, not even for Fiova and Maricopa.
I would love for one or more people in each province to step up and do this historical research on their own.
There's a bit in the Cézembre Administrative Guide but I will endeavor to assemble more.
Thank you for that, but what about the date-scheme I cited at the top of this thread?

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on January 02, 2022, 03:05:38 PMIt would be of interest to have simple ID cards, but with investigation for organizations that develop those may turn up some that can also provide camouflage / fantasy passports such as one I obtained for the time I was working in Saudi Arabia and traveling in the middle east. This was not intended to be presented at any actual border, but perhaps to hand to the nice man in the balaclava holding an AK-47 representing a non-governmental organization. These may be useful to Talossans both for personal enjoyment and also potentially for personal security, and are typically accompanied by other club membership cards (Whiskey and Science Fiction?) or peripheral documents (Royal Heavy Opera Benefactor? Maritiimi-Maxhestic Yacht Club slip permit?) and perhaps visa stamps from the various provinces or Péngöpäts. My estimate that such could be developed for $50-$60 US as I believe the Conch Republic sells theirs for $100 as a fundraiser (which could be another purpose for this activity)
I have a few months to do something in the Interior portfolio, and ID cards seems to be a very basic thing that I can do. If I get a design, I can make a requisition of funds to get them printed, and liaise with the Chancery to offer them to all citizens.Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on April 15, 2021, 10:09:48 PM
If the crown relaunched this program in a different form, would there be interest? His Majesty has the power to confer awards as a general matter, as well as arms, so perhaps a sort of armorial ID card might be in order? It would be cool to not only have a photo but also a coat of arms on the card, after all. And since I'm the one who did it last time, I have high confidence I could do it again.

On the one hand: the old system whereby political parties could give seats to whoever they wanted enabled corruption and meant no democratic accountability of who got in the Cosa.
On the other hand: it allowed new citizens to get involved in national legislation right away, should they want to.
POSSIBLE COMPROMISE: reserve a certain amount of seats in the Cosa (7.5% of the Cosa, 15 out of the current 200? or in addition to the current 200?) for the Secretary of State (not the parties) to allocate to people who immigrated since the last election, maximum of 1.5% of the Cosa per person. This is not dissimilar to how other countries have reserved seats which are nominated (not elected) to bring minority or marginalised groups into the legislature. So random newbie turns up, SoS says "here are your 3 seats". If we run out of seats because more than 5 newbies show up, the SoS can redistribute the allocations. I doubt we'd get more than 15 per term.
This would allow newbies to get involved right away without having to pledge allegiance to one or another political party right off the bat. It would mean influence over legislation, and possibly over VoCs, but not disproportionately so (perhaps the allocated seats wouldn't get to vote on the VoC?) However it would need an OrgLaw amendment to IV.1 and IV.2.

At Chez Tzaracomprada, we just completed the feats of strength and the airing of grievances. Unfortunately, our steel pole is stuck in the Great Supply Chain Omnishambles of 2021. I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday created on a show about nothing (Seinfeld.)
Festivus is a pretty goofy and zany holiday which might be eligible for Talossification. Might Talossa create a Golden Week of holidays like they do in Japan?
Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on December 20, 2021, 10:58:54 PMHave a happy holiday!
Going away with the family for Christmas, should be back on or around Independence Day. I'm reachable on Facebook or via email in case of emergency. There'd better still be a country when I come back.

Are we allowed to change our vote?
Ah, I see in RONR:
"A member has the right to change her vote on a motion until the result of the vote has been announced by the presiding officer."
Oh well, waiting for the veto then.
