Quote from: Sir Ian Plätschisch on June 26, 2025, 12:59:10 PMThat would be believable if you had said something ONCE and then stopped after you were informed and of how it was being taken.

It's not believable now because you said the exact same things over and over AFTER you knew full well everyone hated it.

Yes, informed by Luc which just happened, Ian.

Quote from: Sir Lüc on June 26, 2025, 11:31:58 AMThank you, and I mean it.

I have, I hope understandably, been reluctant to speak publicly about the incident that sparked all this. I was deeply disgusted by it, and remain disgusted about the numerous efforts at deflection, gaslighting, whataboutism, the lack of any sort of apology or self reflection. It's disheartening, but I am relieved to see Talossa at large will not stand for harassment and I hope nobody will have to endure what I did ever again. I urge all MZs to vote for this resolution, and pledge to comply with the Ziu's wishes should it pass.

So thank you again, for the leadership you have shown, for the support you have given me in public and private, for giving me a voice when mine wasn't working so well.

I am sincerely glad you've found your voice, Luc, and spoken publicly on this matter but I again reject the mischaracterization of my words or actions as deflection, gaslighting, or whataboutism. And while I've never complimented someone with malicious intent (including the instances being referenced here) it does seem that you and others are committed to seeing it that way. For any discomfort I have caused you, whether it was intended or not, I apologize. As you have stated above the impact on you has been negative so intent is irrelevant.

I have said before I am someone who compliments people with ease but I need to remember not everyone will receive it the same way or in the way it was intended. I view being a "hype-man" who builds people up as a positive and therefore prioritized being true to myself, as I will always strive to tell people something positive about themselves when I see it, but recognize especially when it comes to appearances that no one owes me reciprocity or to see it that way themselves.

Added questions on age and civil status (as on the previous census) and on education level (seems to make sense for a census).

Hugh

Thanks for the introduction to New South Scotland.  Should things progress to the point of an Embassy at the level of the Realm, it may be of interest to have a consulate in our fair province.

Cézembre - TalossaWiki

I noticed the map on your site - should you wish to delve into details of the isle see this map

Definitions of a consulate location to be debated in l'Etats de Cézembre for Zone Autorisée would be made via https://what3words.com/

Not sure if there was further discussion of this, would there be a designated section of beach or the beach in its entirety?

The Landing Pier / Salutations from the Republic ...

Azul, citizens of Talossa,

I bring warm greetings from the Commission of External Affairs in my capacity as Provisional President of the Republic of New South Scotland. New South Scotland has existed in various forms since 2012, although we recently assumed full independence and thus asserted a distinct legal personality. While New South Scotland's history is long and storied, its legacy pales in comparison to that of Talossa. Indeed, I personally have long admired Talossa for its cultural longevity, well before I took the reins of New South Scotland.

New South Scotland has a small but passionate non-resident population. We were first established as a colony of another 'micronation' on the campus of the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Since that time, we have grown dramatically, both demographically and in cultural and political maturity. We were at one point a condominium between two other micronations, before gaining full independence from the better known Empire of Austenasia this year. For most of our history, we have been a highly-autonomous, self-governing territory.

Politically speaking, we have a complex constitutional and legislative base and could be considered a latent democracy. That is to say, the full breadth of New South Scotland's democracy is only 'activated' once the Republic reaches a total population of nine citizens (at which point elections are called to fill the Legislative Assembly and appoint a PM). Until that time, I exercise temporary power as Provisional President.

New South Scotland boasts two 'Spreadsheet Football' teams and a unique historical legacy, recognising the First Nations Bidjigal language as an official language, as well as the near-extinct 'micronational' language of Zealandian. We have our own police service, the New South Scotland Constabulary. We also have our own public holidays, timezone and newspaper, and are actively seeking citizens (particularly those in the regions of Australia and New Zealand).

You can read more about New South Scotland here: https://newsouthscotland.weebly.com/

It is a tremendous privilege to be granted access to Wittenberg, especially with New South Scotland having long been an admirer of Talossa, particularly its language and long history. The Commisison of External Affairs is on the cusp of signing treaties with several other 'micronations'. But separate to that, I would be honoured to speak with some Talossan citizens and officials. On face value, it would appear Talossa and New South Scotland share a similar goal of building a meaningful community of real people, notwithstanding the much smaller scale of that community in New South Scotland!

Paraþiăs,
Provisional President of New South Scotland

Lastly, one small reminder that there are five bills and resolutions in the Hopper which do not need CRL review and can go straight on the Clark, just so I can restate this somewhere central where people can see it:

  • The two Senses of the Ziu, but not before they have laid in the Hopper for ten days;
  • The treaty ratification resolution, pursuant to H.2.1.2.2;
  • The Perþonest reappointment resolution, pursuant to H.2.1.2.4;
  • The Census question review bill, pursuant to C.1.2.2.2 and H.2.1.2.5.
