I wish I'd had this graphic to add to today's tweet celebrating Penguin Awareness day! Nevertheless, I added it as a reply to today's celebratory tweet!

Yeah, I was just coming here to post that after posting it on talossa.net.

Talossan has a completely different grammar than English, one much closer to French. You can't "translate" by replacing individual words with their dictionary equivalents. For example, "celebratar" is the infinitive, "to celebrate"; you need the imperative, "celebratetz".

I know that the current grammar of Talossan might be heavy going for newcomers, but it's easier to read and understand than Ben Madison's grammar from 1996 which I learned out of. Everyone who wants to try to use Talossan should read it first, then ask questions.

Thanks I will adjust the penguin text when I get home this evening.   Tomorrow is Squirrel Appreciation Day 21 January so I could also create a graphic for that and appreciate any help with the translation.

Thought you ought to know the wiki says that's a bad link when I click on it.

It is good to know Talossan grammar is much like French though, having taken French way back in high school.

Hm... the link works for me just fine. Try searching for "SIGN:Dals Recomendăs sür el Glheþ Talossan" on TalossaWiki, that should send you to the right page.

It's close enough (though not quite accurate) to think of Talossan as kind of a dialect of French, with lots and lots of loan words from the most random languages around the world. The biggest difference to my mind (French->English translator here) is that Talossan doesn't have a subjunctive mood.

Would you say it should?
