Túischac'h, I rise to submit an enquiry to the Seneschal.

Last term, the now-Seneschal @Miestră Schivă, UrN performed commendable multipartisan work to secure the King's promise to abdicate following the identification of a successor. It is well-known that Open Society supports the elevation of the current Secretary of State, a renowned and committed Free Democrat. And the Free Democrats, in their Avant-Multiparty Accord program, stated the following commitment:

Quoteto ensure that there will be a new King of Talossa before the end of the 60th Cosa, who will be culturally active, non-political, and friendly to all shades of Talossan opinion.

In these early days, I ask the Seneschal to please update the Ziu on the status of fulfilling this important promise. Whether it be Sir Nordselva, Baron Davinescu, or someone else please update the Ziu as to identifying a successor to King John so he can get his well-deserved rest.

Baron Alexandreu Davinescu

If I might: His Majesty has been considering his options discussing the matter with multiple individuals. I do not think it betrays any confidences to say that he has been discussing his various options and has narrowed down the possibilities. None of these deliberations are public, but please trust that they are active and ongoing.

Point of order: With thanks for the information, Baron Davinescu is neither a member of Government nor the named official for this terpelaziun. I look forward to hearing from Seneschal Schiva.

Baron Alexandreu Davinescu

Um. Ok.

Mr. Tuischach,

I would encourage you to ensure order in this enquiry thread.

Miestră Schivă, UrN

I thank the Member for his question.

One major reason why the people of Talossa lost confidence with John I Regeu was his standoffishness and disinterested in communicating with his Kingdom as a whole, let alone his elected Government. That standoffishness continues. By which I mean, the King has not communicated with me on the matter of the Succession or on any other matter. (I asked him to formally appoint the Cabinet a few weeks ago - nothing doing, so far.)

However, one hears rumours. I have been informed by those who are in a good position to know - but not in a position to speak publicly - that the King has identified his preferred Successor to the Throne. Only Allà and perhaps John I Regeu knows when a public announcement will be made, but the wheels are certainly turning, if that helps. It is devoutly to be hoped that this successor will have a better relationship with his elected Ziu and Government.

I share the Seneschal's wish for a public announcement soon and for that successor to have a better relationship with Talossa's elected officials. Thank you for your prompt answer.
