I know most people use Windows, but I wanted to know if anyone uses a Linux distribution. I personally use Linux Mint.

I have a Chromebook, so it's ChromeOS for me

My laptop is running Microslop's latest system from factory and my previously used laptop has Zorin OS 18 Core installed. I also have an Asus Eee PC 900 on which I've installed its original operating system now that I have an external CD drive.

Linux From Scratch builder here. These days most of my machines/servers are Debian/Ubuntu. Sadly, the few remaining Gentoo servers I had had been decommissioned, but those were a joy.

I use Windows 10, but unfortunately my desktop build is pushing 9 years, which means some of my components aren't Windows 11 compatible.

Considering just doing a motherboard/CPU swap, or building something new and setting up a Linux partition for everyday use and a Windows partition (or just Wine maybe) for things I need it for. My brother's a big Linux guy, I'd wager he'd be excited to help me out with an install. The catch is that the latter option is expensive...

I say install Linux on a USB drive, this article is a great guide, used it myself numerous times.

Yeah, I did that and it works great.  Lubuntu is a fork of Ubuntu that is well-suited for that.

I commonly do it with vanilla Ubuntu and also tried it with Linux Mint but that didn't work for whatever reason. Zorin OS is a great distro too.
