I had decided to try and be the last person to vote, but I had already written down my vote somewhere earlier. Then just before the end confusion happened and I forgot to actually post my vote here before closing. Oh well...

As a result only 4 voters this time.

Africa (7),
High Hopes (7),
You Give Love a Bad Name (5), and based on the first tiebreaker
Gimme Shelter (4), and
The Devil Went Down to Georgia (4)

have qualified for the final, which means that Kashmir, which also got 4 points, has been eliminated.

I will set up the final tomorrow probably...

Before I post the final, a reminder: do NOT post your vote in this thread. Send your vote to me, by pm, email, facebook, whatever. The results are supposed to be a secret until I reveal them. Of course, do feel free to post your predictions.

Final of the Talossan Music Top 20 - 2020!

The moment we've all been waiting for. We started with 150 songs, including 41 nominations. Now there are only 15 left, but there can only be one winner.

Because this is the final, rather than ranking only 3 or 4, we will rank 10 out of 15 of them eurovision style by giving 12,10,8,7,6,5,4,3,2, and 1 points.
Voting will take  a week, so you have plenty of time to listen to all the songs again. I don't know yet what the exact deadline will be, but for now lets say September 26th, 10:00 TST. Like I said votes should not be posted here, but send to me, so the results will be a surprise. You may post your votes only AFTER the results have been announced. To be fair, I will decide on my own vote within 48 hours, of course after listening to each song one last time, so I wont be tempted to base my vote on the results so far.

Give 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points. (Deadline = September 26th 10:00 TST )

FINAL
Bon Jovi - You Give Love a Bad Name
Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five
David Bowie - Starman
Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing
Dire Straits - Telegraph Road
Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire
Panic! At The Disco - High Hopes
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Queen - Innuendo
Queen & David Bowie - Under Pressure
Simon and Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence
The Charlie Daniels Band - The Devil Went Down to Georgia
The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
Toto - Africa

Tiebreakers:
- points/voter (unweighted average of rounds 2 and 3)
- Last year's result (1 > 2 > ... > 20 > round 3 > round 2 > other)
(First place already gives a bonus so I'm not including that in the tiebreaker)

Just to be sure, do not post your vote in this thread! What you are encouraged to post though is commentary on the progress of the game, the rules, the songs, suggestions for next year etc, and of course, your prediction for what the top 3 will be.

I don't know whether there will be any sort of broadcast or whether I will just post the results here.

Because this is the final round, I'm just gonna do another round of tagging people who may or may not be interested. @DNVercaria @Lüc @Ian Plätschisch @Txosuè Éiric Rôibeardescù @Eiric S. yes

Yes to PM?  Yes to email?  Yes to something else?

Either works :p

I imagine pm being the easiest.

My vote is sent in.

I approached all the votes as if the songs were in my favorites playlist. Most of the songs are already in my playlist. If I would have played the song when I'm shuffling I voted it higher. If I would skip the song I voted it down lower.

Cast my own vote. Compared to previous editions Gorillaz, Muse and Talking Heads are dearly missed.

Still a pretty decent list. Imho, the top 5 are amazing, 3 more songs are really good, 6 more are decent songs even if they are not really my thing, and there is only one song I dislike. I do think the list could use some more variety maybe.

Anyway, 4 votes in so far and so far the points are divided as follows:

25
24
23
20
17
16
15
15
13
13
12
12
10
9
8

So there are definitely some trends developing, but nothing is decided yet...
Only four songs got points from every voter so far, but one of those is in the bottom 3. Three of last year's top 5 are currently in the top 5 again.

7 votes in. Only 10 points separate the numbers 5 and 12. However at the tail ends of the score distribution the gaps are starting to widen with one song now taking a clear (though far from unassailable) lead.

Opinions clearly differ on the songs currently ranked 4th and 9th, which have high standard deviations. On the other hand, the songs currently ranked 2nd, 12th and 14th have low standard deviations.

Always interested to hear any predictions.

Gonna extend the deadline to 23:59 TST on saturday, because I won't be around on saturday anyway, so will probably start posting the results on sunday.

The reveal has started here: https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=512.15

Should have probably posted that link earlier. Sadly, it doesn't seem like there will be a broadcast this year.
