I am just curious, does anyone ever update the TalossaWiki page? I just went there to study up a little and noticed that it still says we are in the 55th Cosa. The same is true of the link to Vuode, it says we are currently in the XI Grand Session and I believe we are now in Grand Session XII, though I don't think we even have a provincial government right now since nobody claimed a seat. Just wondering who is supposed to be in charge of updating the Wiki

At least in my (limited) experience, the wiki is sort of a "fix-it-as-you-find-it" thing. Strictly speaking, there's no one person in charge of maintaining it. I can't speak to provincial pages, though I've updated Benito's here and there as necessary and documented the most recent Cosa electoral results.

The wiki is owned and managed by the Ministry of STUFF, and it's their responsibility.

Counterpoint: no it's not. The Ministry of Technology maintains the wiki, but content has never been a Government responsibility. That's the whole point of having a wiki - it's maintained through citizen enthusiasm. Lüc da Schir used to do a lot of the most epic work, until he took a break from citizenship. AD himself used to be one of the most active wiki editors... though he seems to have decided that "going on strike" would give him a stick to beat the Government with.

My predecessors in the STUFF role were never in charge of wiki updation. You can call Eðo up and ask him yourself.

Okay, I was just wondering, didn't mean to start another argument LOL I won't be doing any editing on the wiki as I am apparently not smart enough to figure out how (yes I tried LOL) but maybe that is why no one does it, perhaps it is too difficult.

Shockingly, I remain one of the most active editors! The bar is much lower now, though, admittedly.

But no, decisions about content have always been the ultimate prerogative of the ministry, and usually it has been considered the job of the Government to make sure that fundamental and important information was kept updated there, particularly now that so much of the national website just transcludes wiki pages. But it's only been in the last few years that activity has dropped to this degree and it's ever actually been a concern.

I do not buy into the theory that a person can have all the power but none of the responsibility. That's why I urge the king to greater efforts and why I try to hold the government accountable.

Let's put it this way. I agree that the wiki should undergo a serious updation. But I am not in a position to do the work myself (and there is no legal requirement that I do so). I have limited time, energy and "health points" to spend on Talossa, and I am currently spending them in all in different areas that the Seneschal asked me to prioritise.

I am happy, on the other hand, to pull together a team and make a plan to bring the wiki up to date, but I'll need volunteers. But the question has to be raised: do people want the wiki updated, even if it requires them doing some of the work?

I would be happy to help but I have extremely limited computer skills and time.

We currently have an incentive program to encourage citizens to update the wiki: https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=1485.0. It is not too hard once it's set up, Id be happy to help.

Just like everything else, the Ministry of STUFF is very understaffed. It cannot reasonably be expected to be responsible for all wiki updates right now.

I should note that I've talked to someone who wanted to have a go at rejigging the front page, which is quite out of date but is written in very fancy markup that I don't have a clue about. I'll keep the nation posted about if and when that happens.
