2022 - 2023 Talossan Music Top 20 Special Edition: Round 1

Many thanks to everyone who nominated songs. Of course, people who did not are still very welcome to participate.

Give your top three songs 3, 2, and 1 points, respectively. You must give points to exactly three songs.

Voting will last three days or until there are at least three voters. The top two songs from each group advance to the Final.

GROUP  2 (Christmas)
Greg Lake - Toyah, I Believe in Father Christmas
Lindsey Stirling - O Come, O Come Emmanuel
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - A Nitty Gritty Christmas
Peter Auty - Walking in the Air
Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody

GROUP 3 (Christmas)
Big Star - Jesus Christ
Kristi Yamaguccimane - Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You
Statler and Waldorf - Marley & Marley
Yo-Yo Ma and Alison Krauss - The Wexford Carol

Tiebreakers:
- Number of voters giving 3 points
- Number of voters giving 2 points
- 24-hour tiebreaker round
- Random chance

Tactical voting refers to either giving more points than you normally would to a song because it would make the difference between it going through or getting eliminated, or giving fewer points than you normally would to a song because it might kick a song you like even more out of the competition. This is hard to prevent, but my very strong request would be to not do it. Give points to the songs you believe deserve to go through, regardless of how others are voting. Doing otherwise reduces the value of votes that came before you, which is unfair to them. Remember that it's not a competition between voters, but a collective effort to make a nice list of songs we like. Thanks.

I did my best with all the links but there is always a chance some are broken or have a wrong version or bad audio quality. If a link is broken or you have a suggestion for a better link, please contact me or post the link in the thread. Officially, we are not voting on the YouTube link, but on the listed Artist + Title.

COMMENTARY ON THE PROGRESS OF THE GAME, THE RULES, WHAT SONGS YOU LIKE, ETC., IS VERY WELCOME.

Looks like everything after this group got deleted in the Wittpocalypse. Luckily I have everything saved in an Excel file. I will repost the missing results for posterity

I have updated the second post of this thread with all of the Round 1 results. From here:
- By the time we lost Witt access, voting on Groups 3 and 4 of the Recently Released group had already ended, but I had not counted the votes and have no idea which songs would have advanced. I think the best thing to do is re-vote, with a voting period of one week to give everyone the best change of voting again. I will also add Group 5.
- @Glüc da Dhi S.H. , please resend your final vote for the Eurovision final. It was cast before the deadline but unfortunately I did not enter it into my workbook in time.

Given the continuing technical difficulties (and the fact that we don't even have 3 voters yet), I am inclined to extend the deadline for little while longer.
