Quote from: Ian Plätschisch on April 21, 2024, 03:32:51 PMtwo songs (for new citizens, those are Bohemian Rhapsody and Gimme Shelter). These are the only multiple-time winners, so I am instituting a new rule to retire multiple-time winners into the TMT20 Hall of Fame.

Does this mean were gonna a thread somewhere to be this hall of fame?

@Munditenens Tresplet, I've noticed you've been around on witt a lot lately (I heard there was some sort of election going on?). Any chance you feel like participating in TMT again, for old time's sake? (Unfortunately it's a bit too late to bring Barry Manilow back for this year.)

TMT20 ROUND 3

Round 3 consists of five groups of ten songs each. The top two songs from each group advance directly to the Final, while the next three songs from each group advance to the Semifinal. Groups are drawn randomly in such a way that each group contains two 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place songs from Round 2.

We will vote on groups 1, 2, and 3 and then groups 4 and 5. Each voting period will last three days (72 hours). Votes cast after that will not be accepted, with the exception that we will always keep going until we have at least three votes per group.

Give your top five songs 6, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points, respectively. You must give points to exactly four or five songs (awarding the 1-point vote is optional).

GROUP 4
Alan Parsons Project - Sirius/Eye In The Sky
Charlie Daniels Band - The Devil Went Down to Georgia
Coldplay - Fix You
Earth, Wind and Fire - September
Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
Eurythmics - Here Comes the Rain Again
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Prozac+ - Acida
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
Toto - Africa

GROUP 5
B-52's - Roam
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Men at Work - Down Under
New Order - Blue Monday
Police - Roxanne
Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want
The Who - Baba O'Riley

Tiebreakers:
- Number of voters giving 6 points
- Number of voters giving 4 points
- Number of voters giving 3 points
- Number of voters giving 2 points
- PPV in Round 2
- Rank in Round 2
- Last year's result (1 > 2 > ... > 20 > Round 4 > Round 3 > Round 2 > other)
- PPV in Round 1 (if applicable)
- Rank in Round 1 (if applicable)
- Year first nominated (special edition > earlier > later)
- Random chance

Tactical voting refers to either giving more points than you normally would to a song because it would make the difference between it going through or getting eliminated, or giving fewer points than you normally would to a song because it might kick a song you like even more out of the competition. This is hard to prevent, but my very strong request would be to not do it. Give points to the songs you believe deserve to go through, regardless of how others are voting. Doing otherwise reduces the value of votes that came before you, which is unfair to them. Remember that it's not a competition between voters, but a collective effort to make a nice list of songs we like. Thanks.

I did my best with all the links but there is always a chance some are broken or have a wrong version or bad audio quality. If a link is broken or you have a suggestion for a better link, please contact me or post the link in the thread. Officially, we are not voting on the YouTube link, but on the listed Artist + Title.

COMMENTARY ON THE PROGRESS OF THE GAME, THE RULES, WHAT SONGS YOU LIKE, ETC., IS VERY WELCOME.
