Anyone else a fan of this show? Star Trek: Lower Decks returns for its final season today and it's quirky humor has really grown on me.
There was also a fun cross-over episode with Strange New Worlds.

Yes, I love the show! I've been a little annoyed watching it recently only because I use closed captioning due to hearing loss and the captioning has been out of sync. Not the fault of the show, but it makes it less enjoyable. Nevertheless, even my wife Chelli loves it, and she does not love most SciFi stuff.

Very happy to see another Talossan fan. When it first came out I didn't expect to like it but now I tease my partner by saying "okey dokey" as Rutherford is one of my favorite Trek characters now.

Did you know they are already talking about the potential for a Lower Decks movie after the final season?

No, I wasn't aware of that. For a while I was playing a game that had some crossover elements including The Cerritos and several of the characters.

I used to be a hardcore Trekkie. (Ahem, Trekker.) Loved the original series, loved the Next Generation, loved the movies. But then...suddenly there was Deep Space Nine, Voyager...like, maybe a couple of other series I can't even remember the names of. When you are used to waiting long periods between shows, it suddenly seemed like too much at once. I didn't have enough time in my life to follow three Star Trek shows in the same week. I still have yet to see Picard.
The same thing has happened with Star Wars. When the Mandalorian came out, I was excited. A Star Wars tv series! Man, I've waited 40 years for such a thing, and the first season didn't disappoint. But then, suddenly...there's a Ben Kenobi series. Then, the Acolyte, and like two other shows. Who has time to watch so many shows? I don't. I haven't even finished watching the final season of Better Call Saul yet, and I loved that show.
I might get around to Lower Decks someday. This is a far cry from when I was growing up and you had three tv channels and whatever was at the video rental store. There's almost too much content to choose from nowadays. (Damn, do I sound like an old man shouting at clouds or what? Shakes fist angrily at the sky, "There's too much damn Star Wars!")

Yes, I know how you feel in that there is just so much content now across a fragmented media environment. I've actually start to put the shows or upcoming movies I am excited about on my calendar. I got a calendar update for ST: Lower Decks yesterday.

The first two seasons of Picard are meh btw, in my opinion. But the third season is one of the best runs of the entire franchise.

Well, I also think my attention span is getting weaker the older I get. I'm a huge Planet of the Apes fan, and have been intending to watch the latest one (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes) since it first became available on Disney Plus, but I keep putting it off. I just don't have the time or patience to sit thru a regular length movie nowadays. (Is this a sign of mental decline?)

If it is, then I am quite far gone, Iason...
I suspect our media consumption could play a part in it though. Shorts/Reels/Tiktok-length videos are quite popular apparently but they are not long enough to be a satisfying story to me.
