Tuischach,

This enquiry is for the Minister of Technology @Mic'haglh Autófil, SMC EiP

I am referring to the following statement from Minister Autofil in mid-December here:

Quote from: Mic'haglh Autófil, SMC EiP on December 14, 2024, 04:11:12 PMEstimadăs Tuischac'h, I thank the Member for this question.

I will admit that the transition of the National Database has taken a bit of a backseat to some of the other issues currently being solved by the Technology Ministry, however as I have a significant amount of free time over the holidays, I will commit to holding this discussion by the end of the month/year.

The discussion thread was indeed posted and led to this announcement by the Chancery:

Quote from: Sir Lüc on January 01, 2025, 06:50:24 AMThe Chancery is already planning to go forwards with Option 2, to be developed entirely in house, with thanks to Backend PermSec Dan T for already setting up the required reverse proxy entries so that you'll eventually be able to access the new DB at database.talossa.com.

Neither of the two other options is in any way acceptable to me as the one who's gonna be in charge of actually using the damn thing, and the midterm referendum was a successful test run for running a national poll using a website built with Django.

Minister Autofil, what is the status of work with the Chancery on National Database Replacement Option 2 as described by the SoS above?

Nimis gaudiam habeo

Mic’haglh Autófil, O.Be

Tuischac'h,

I thank the member for this question, which if he will forgive me for presuming, is that last bit contained within his quote (due to formatting error?)

I have been cataloguing the various types of information found within database pages (not the actual entries, just the fields themselves) to ensure that we are not neglecting to transfer anything. I will be working more in-depth with the Secretary of State in the coming week to ensure that we are laying out our models for each database entry (a model for Citizens, a model for Bills, etc) thoroughly.
Illegitimis non carborundum

Thank you Minister Autofil for the reply and for the exciting news on database developments.
