Welcome to the thread for the Talossan Music Top 20 - 2020 edition.

In this event we start with 109 songs, add 41 new nominations, and then vote in multiple rounds until we have a list of the 20 songs most enjoyed by Talossans.
The results will maybe be broadcasted, or published in a newspaper, or likely just published on witt.

TMT 2019 Nomination Rules

Nominations are now open. Everyone (including guests and prospective citizens) is invited to nominate songs to form the 2020 edition of the Talossan Music Top 20.

The same rounds format and tiebreakers as last year will be used. (See above post for link)

41 new songs will be nominated. For now we will start with 3 nominations per person. If we don't have 41 songs in the next 5 days/120 hours  everyone will be free to nominate a new songs every X (tbd) hours. In the next post I will post a list of all songs that have already been nominated and therefore cannot be nominated again.

We are voting on the written combination artist (or composer) + title, rather than the specific version that is being linked to, in case people do not like that version.

If you can, please include a link to youtube or some other video or audio file of the song. Otherwise I will find a link myself but I might not always find the best version. In addition I will maybe try to make a spotify list of all the songs. If there are multiple versions of the song on spotify and you prefer a certain version let me know.

All genres of music are welcome. I am not going to ban entire symphonies, so if you want to submit that, it is allowed, but I will advise people to consider that participants are probably not going to listen to two hours of classical music per round for this game, so it might be preferable to nominate a shorter part of a long classical piece, preferably something that has its own title rather than Op 43, 3rd movement or something like that, because that does not really look nice in this format. (That is not a rule though, just some advice.)

One last thing: do not worry about nominating songs because they are not popular enough (or the opposite: too mainstream). You do not get a prize if your song gets the first spot. If you get someone to listen to a song or genre he did not know or like before, that is nice too. We all seem to love our 70s rock classics, and if your all time favorite song happens to fall in that category, go for it! But if it does not, adding some diversity to the list is just as good. Just nominate whatever song you think deserves to be in the list for whatever reason.
