Minimizing unused boards

@Sir Lüc , I have some requests about how Wittenberg can be organized to be less intimidating to newcomers.

I'd like to request that the boards for La Società Talossan dal Siensiă-ficziun, del Fantasieu es del Wiski, Fora Talossa, El C'hlub Saxhitourófil, and el Cußeglh del Futbol Talossan be placed as subboards under a "Clubs" board, similar to the current setup for "Political Parties." 

I'd also request an "Archived" board with the two archived boards as subboards under that.

I'd also like to request that the two Ziu boards be put as subboards under "The Lobby."

I'd also like to request the deletion of the Funziun and Forziuns Armeschti boards, with their contents moved to under "The Lobby" as well.

Currently, we have thirty top-level boards.  These changes would reduce that to twenty-two, making things at least slightly more manageable and less intimidating.  Most of these boards are only needed by people with special roles who will go looking for them, and some aren't needed at all.

I can mostly get behind these requests - I too believe the number of top level boards on Witt has grown too much and there are many instances where a separate board only serves to segregate and hide away content. Another problem is the provinces having a rather prominent place despite most provincial boards being underutilised. Proboards Witt used to have them as subboards of a Provinces board until about 2013-14.

I might have a few different thoughts about where to place the boards you're proposing to eliminate, but that's mostly academic. (For instance, I would rather dissolve hobby boards into the Chat Room than eliminate them; also, the Funziun board can also go into the main Wittenberg board.)

I would also like to merge the Cézembre sub-boards (l'Etats, RAK, CCC) into the main one.

Yeah, I don't feel too strongly I guess about any of the changes in particular. Those were just my first thoughts about this to simplify and make things a little more welcoming.

@Sir Lüc Are you planning to make El C'hlub Saxhitourófil a sub-board or to archive it? I suggested it being archived as it has been nearly two years since there has been a post. Unfortunately, the Club appears to be inactive now.

Right, I have implemented virtually all of the proposed/requested tweaks.

The lone outstanding issue is to perhaps collapse all provinces into a single board right below the main Wittenberg one. I am somewhere like 75%-25% in favour of doing that at the moment.

Additionally, I am pondering whether we should split the Chat Room into a Hobby/Offtopic board, which would now be public, and an all-purpose private board (for personal stuff and also threads like the recent immigration thing).

I can't see the individual Cosa and Senats threads anymore. Or the Science Fiction board. Where can the moved or collapsed threads be found?

The provincial boards all have posts from the last few months, and that's why I didn't recommend that.  I don't think it would be outrageous, but there has actually been a good amount of local activity lately, so maybe wait on that and see how you feel in a few days?

That makes sense -- I'd suggest the Chat Room (perhaps renamed "Private"?) could then be a sub-board of that Off-Topic board?

It would be good to get the Government's opinion on this (maybe that already happened in private?) as well as His Majesty's, too.

The sub-boards for the Cosa and Senate are visible for me under Thd Ziu main board, same thing for the club boards.

Personally, I'm not entirely in favor of making the provinces sub-boards, as to me this further minimizes them.

Fixed - it was just an SMF glitch which I resolved just now by entering the settings and saving.

It was not obvious to me that the moved boards were now hidden since I could still see them and no setting had been changed. The voting threads for the Clark were still accessible via the link in the Clark master post, so no real harm was done in the brief time they were invisible.

Either way, I'd be thankful if the Baron didn't need to be the adult in the room so often, as it should really be obvious to people that I can't be expected to check Witt every half an hour in the middle of a workday, a few hours after spending a good chunk of time publishing the Clark no less.
