Page 21A micronation which's territory, or mainland, consists solely of a single bedroom, or (sometimes) a handful of rooms. [First attested before 29 October 2000 by Robert Ben Madison, Ar Pdts: A Complete History of the Kingdom of Talossa (part one: "The Spirit of ' 79"); so-called because the bedroom is most often claimed due to being the micronational leader's personal (private) room. |

Page 26the Kingdom of Talossa; derivative ("something which is derived") + -ism ("a belief, practice, or movement associated with the root word"); so-called for a micronation that derives from a macronation (as opposed to a micronation that does not formally declare independence, such as one following peculiarism or simulationism).]

[First attested 10 October 2005 by Claudio André de Castro, Holy Empire of Réunion (official website); from Portuguese peculiarismo, first attested 10 October 1998 by Claudio André de Castro, Holy Empire of Réunion (official website), in-turn from English peculiarism ("an ideology in the Kingdom of Talossa which held that Talossa should prioritise frivolousness and fun over realism and secessionism"), coined 1 July 1989 by Dan Lorentz; ultimately from peculiar (strange; unusual; weird") + -ism ('a belief, practice, or movement associated with the root word"); so-called for the ideology's prioritisation of peculiarity. ]

Page 118The commercialisation and spread of the Internet from 1995 onwards may very well have revived micronationalism. Especially influential was the first webpage dedicated solely to micronationalism: the Micronations Page. Registered sometime between 15 January*4 and 1 April 1996,°5 it was maintained by Robert Ben Madison of the Kingdom of Talossa. It consisted of an overview of the topic and included a list of micronations, each marked by Madison's own classification system of seriousness. Heavily referenced were How to Start Your Own Country and the Ephemeral States file which had influenced Madison and the layout of the webpage; he regarded the website as a continuation of Strauss' work.36
