Mr. Speaker,

This enquiry is for the Avocat-Xheneral, @M:sr Pôl dal Nordselvă, D.Div, M.Ed (my apologies if the tagging is incorrect)

In recalling your answer to last month's enquiry:

Quote from: M:sr Pôl dal Nordselvă, D.Div, M.Ed on July 12, 2025, 03:07:54 PMI submitted a reply a few days ago but it seems there was an error and nothing posted. I apologize for that oversight.

I have no updates since my last response. As you can imagine there is a large body of laws to review and without specific areas of concern it is difficult to determine what can be reworked and what doesn't. I would appreciate if you have any specific areas of review please let me know.

Mr. A-X, what updates are there to the Ministry's review of Organic and Statutory law?

Thanks,

I previously asked uf there were any areas of concern you wanted reviewed. If you have any such points of inquiry I look forward to your response.

Mr. Speaker,

I'll repost the question as it is unanswered. What updates are there to the Ministry's review of Organic and Statutory law?

Mr. Speaker,

@Munditenens Tresplet This question remains unanswered unfortunately. Would you please advise on the next steps?

With respect to potential next steps, I refer the Speaker to the following section of statute:

QuoteH.1.2.4 Failure to answer a Terpelaziun or a supplementary question within the deadlines described in this article may be declared by the presiding officer to constitute Contempt of the Ziu, except in the cases outlined below.
H.1.2.4.1 The questioner shall engage with the questioned Minister in answering the Terpelaziun, by providing any required clarifications within a reasonable timeframe.
H.1.2.4.2 The questioned Minister is excused from answering Terpelaziuns that, as judged by the presiding officer: do not fall under the purview of their portfolio, or are not clearly labelled as a Terpelaziun; or are ambiguous, unclear, or poorly formatted; or do not otherwise comply with the provisions of this article.
H.1.2.4.3 Terpelaziuns which refer to matters of Security or Defence of His Majesty's Realm and/or any project(s), correspondence, or activities, in which the Government has deemed, and classified as confidential, or which in its release may damage the Kingdom in any shape or form, may not be answered by any Minister.

My commitment to review both the Organic and Statutory Laws of the Kingdom remains unchanged. That review, however, is not meant to be carried out in isolation. By its nature, it requires the insight and participation of citizens and members of government, since the law belongs to the whole nation and not merely to the Attorney General's office.

On several occasions I have asked you directly if you had any specific concerns or points you would like me to examine as part of this process. To date I have received no reply to those questions. Repeating the same charge once a month, without offering substance or feedback, does not advance the review or contribute to the constructive dialogue that our community depends upon.

I acknowledge that I am not always able to respond instantly, as I balance these duties with other obligations and pressing needs. Nonetheless, when input is offered in good faith, I do make time to consider it carefully and address it fully.

If you do have concerns about particular laws or their application, I invite you again to set them out plainly. I will give them my full attention, as is my duty. But absent such contributions, I must continue my review with the material and responses that are actually provided.

Mr. Speaker, with respect to the Avocat-Xheneral's request for input from me I am going to refer him to my previous answer. This reply was given during debate over the Green Party's mid-term review:

Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on July 15, 2025, 12:06:32 PMI also mentioned in my reply during the last terpelaziun that I was disappointed and concerned with your request that I offer direct areas of law when you mentioned that goal months ago and had not yourself provided any evidence of work on the matter. I can see how you think this is a request for cooperation but in light of no evidence being offered that you've done any investigation on "direct areas of law" yourself it looks more like you are asking someone to do your work for you.

I respectfully decline that invitation.

Asking for answers from the person who asked the question is not an answer. I will follow up once more next month. And will hold out hope that before the end of this Cosa we will see some progress on the Ministry's goal.

Mr. Speaker,

And I hope next month a different answer showing you've done something will make repeating the question unnecessary. :)
