[Govt] Hiring: Clerk of Corts

There is an opportunity available to anyone who wishes to serve Talossa in a fairly minimal capacity... the office of Clerk of Corts!

The Clerk of Corts mostly just sets up trial stuff.  If someone wants to file a lawsuit, you post it, randomly assign a judge, and notify everyone involved.  Then when it's over, you just add the record of what happened to a wiki page.

There's a lot of benefits:

• It's an easy job.
• It's actually really important.
• You get to do fancy official stuff like you're in an episode of Law and Order
• Your employee is His Majesty the King of Talossa, the current Deputy!

Well, we're basically being silly since I don't think I ever issued any orders to His Majesty.  The king graciously agreed to be my deputy just in case I became unable to do the job.

Not long after I ascended the throne, the Baron, who was Clerk of Courts, asked me to step in as Deputy in the event that he could not fulfill the role. I agreed as there was no Organic restriction against a Monarch serving in this capacity.

I think perhaps you are missing the joke here. I really have no role and have not done anything in relation to it since I was appointed. It has nothing to do with extra power or being Head of State. What is ironic is that whomever takes over as Clerk of Courts would technically, in this VERY limited situation, be someone I reported to. It's funny - at least to me.

Another thing to consider is the Baron asked me because I am a member of the Royal Bar as a practicing attorney and I was also once on the Uppermost Cort and prior to that the Magistrates Cort. I'm still a lawyer, though I don't do much with it, but being legal-minded has served me well on the throne as well as my prior role as Secretary of State.
