I am wondering if anyone is planning on watching this? As a Trekkie, I consume it all but the presence of Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti is certainly a hook for me. I am not a fan of the new setting in the Fourth Millennium but remain hopeful.

As it premieres one day after my birthday (which is tomorrow) I plan on cracking open my new bottle of Scotch and watch it. I love that The Doctor from Voyager is in this show and I'm very curious to see Holly Hunter in it as well.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the premiere. One day we should have a Trek watch-party. There is plenty of content to choose from.

Star Trek has always been my go-to when I need some optimism for the future especially in these...troubling times.

Random tangent—I wish they'd add more Andorian characters, they're my personal favorite lol

Not Andorian but related, what did you think of the Aenar character Lieutenant Hemmer? I was so sad when he was killed off in Strange New Worlds. It was cool to have a character that redefined the concept of disability. And the actor playing the character is legally blind.

I personally prefer the race design in Enterprise (Shran of course being one of my all time favs), but character-wise he's great. He may be an Aenar but he has that Andoran wit I always love!

This conversation is making me wanna play Star Trek Online again lol

I thought it was good. It's definitely write by a new generation of writers which I'm ok with. I didn't realize it was set in the 32nd century which will take some getting used to.

I haven't gotten the names down yet but the Klingon medic-in-training is an instant favorite! A lot of history has happened by this point in the timeline and I'm curious to see how the galaxy will be this far into the future. I can definitely see this as their attempt to attract a younger audience and I can easily see the show slowly becoming more complex and epic as it unfolds.

Also love Paul and Holly's characters!

What about you?

I am going to let a few episodes build up and then binge it but am hopeful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
