Estimat Tuischac'h,

I rise this evening with a question for the Minister for Foreign Affairs, @xpb . I had initially posed this question to the Minister, represented by the Seneschal, at the Informal Session. However, as the Seneschal admitted he would not be able to accurately account for his Minister in this case, he recommended I pose the question to the Minister directly in order to get an answer. Therefore:

The 2026 eSports Games, an event of the Micronational Olympics Federation, recently began competition. The event features competition in multiple events, including Battleship, Chess, Uno, Pac-Man, and a "National Pride" event reminiscent of the former Olympic art competitions.

I will give fair warning, as I did at the Informal Session, that this question is a two-parter, but the first question is very simply: was the Minister aware of this event?
"Rebellion against tyrants is obedience to god." - Thomas Jefferson

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, but your government only when it deserves it." - Mark Twain

"Democracy is not a tearing down; it is a building up. ... It does not destroy; it fulfills. It is the consummation of all theories of government, the spirit of which all the nations of the earth must yield. It is the great constructive course of the ages." - Calvin Coolidge

thanks for the posting I was unaware of this event and I'm sorry if I missed any kind of direct messages regarding it.  in the past I've encouraged people to take part in online activities such as youplay.it and learnedleague.com to which at least a couple of citizens have participated.  I've also challenged the kingdom prior to my appointment as minister to the world quizzingg championships which take place the first Saturday of June each year. I would assume this e-sport event would be of interest to some in our midst.

Estimate Tuischac'h,

I thank the Minister for his reply; while the other information is indeed welcome, it appears that at its core, his answer to my question is "no", so as a supplementary question, why was it the Government was unaware? The current government campaigned in the last election on a fifty-word statement that said in part: "Promote the fun stuff that's happening... and let the world know about our amazing little nation!" Participating in this event along with many other micronational delegations would have been a fantastic opportunity to "let the world know about our amazing little nation", and it seems a major oversight on their part not to have investigated. The Seneschal is in the MicroWiki discord, the same place I myself learned of this event. How did the Government manage to drop the ball?

It would be great to take part in lots of events, and it was unfortunate that this one was missed this year but perhaps can be placed on future calendars.

Of note for next year is that both the King and I have registered to MicroCon 27, and others are encouraged to do so while the early bird pricing is still in effect until 5 April in the USA and likely a similar time in Europe  https://us.microcon27.com/a-warning-from-microcon-27/
