Green Party KIN: Kingdom Improvement Notes

Party members, I will broach this topic in our Discord as well but wanted to create this public space for thinking ahead of the next election.

What would be your suggestions for improving citizen experience in the Kingdom? I am calling these KIN or Kingdom Improvement Notes. Please make your suggestions and we can create consensus around those we submit to the electorate.

Here are some of mine:

IMMIGRATION:
-Renew the TalossAssistant program

CULTURE:
-Enact programs that develop Talossan culture beyond the language and politics.
-Restore BEER (inspiration from the recent Artemis program)

FINANCE:
-Include information from InfoTeca concerning spending in La C'hronica.

DEFENCE:
-Eliminate the Ministry of Defence and transfer the Royal Zouaves into the Royal Household. (I think Talossan Government is larger than needed and, most alarmingly, larger than the capacity of any political grouping to support. We need to face reality and reduce rather than increase the number of ministries. Defence is an obvious area for tightening and reform).

IMMIGRATION:
-Renew the TalossAssistant program

Thankfully, the PA has, after months of delay, restarted this program. Hopefully this will increase successful immigration. And hopefully, the URL will decide to participate.

GENERAL
-I continue to believe, and hope to hear from Green Party members, that our political cycle moves too quickly. The electoral pressures seem to start every three to four months and raise tensions and create incentives for irrational behavior. We need more time for governing with elections every one to two years. Cabinet reshuffling and greater use of the Civil Service should be normalized.

IMMIGRATION
Should the overdue revival of the TalossAssistant prove unsuccessful in increasing the success of immigration applications then we will need to consider alternative solutions. A review of InfoTeca data shows a steady rate of applications between January and May 2026 (in the low to high 20s) but the drop-off especially in the past three months has been in successful applications.

The concern, based on reviewing the data, is in retaining applicants and making them into successful citizens not in attracting applications. The Government has attempted to make a connection between its publication activity and immigration but that is not where the current problem lies. The PA will need to answer to voters why it took months to reactivate a program (at some urging by the Opposition) that will hopefully address the real immigration issue.
