Talossa can do good in the world.

I was saddened to see news of the passing of Dolly Parton (and Tim Curry) for that matter. I was, however, horrified by news of the natural disaster in Nepal. I have said before and will say as many times as possible that Talossa can do good in the world (even if it is by small acts) which helps people as a demonstration of our national character. And hopefully serve as inspiration for other small nations. The BHAID could and should be used as a vehicle for organizing donations to charities supporting people in Nepal.

We need to stop suffocating the BHAID for partisan purposes and make good use of a longstanding organization. I suspect Dolly would really like that.

Taking a quick moment to thank @King Txec for his statement on the tragedy unfolding in Nepal and Tibet. And for urging action through the BHAID concerning Talossan assistance. I look forward to donating to any appeal that arises from the current consulations between the Seneschal and his PermSec for Humanitarian Aid and International Development.

Serious question, what exactly do you imagine the BHAID can accomplish other than just prodding people to donate their own private funds? Not that that's bad (depending on where it's going), but you seem to have a more grandiose idea of it.

As is my custom when I complain about your preoccupation with BHAID, I have made a donation, this time to the Anglican Relief and Development Fund for flooding relief in Nepal.

As someone once told me...you're a good egg. Please complain more if it means donating to good causes, Ian. Thank you for your donation to the Anglican Relief and Development Fund.

The BHAID is usually allotted government funding to make donations as well. I view that activity as the government leading by example which increases the willingness and therefore likelihood of general Talossan giving. Considering the obvious need I don't think that is a bad thing.

It is also notable that Talossa is likely one of the few micronations in the world to do this kind of thing. I am as a Talossa proud of that fact, of my part in helping it come to be, and for the good example this is for other micronations.

I suppose my question then is, does BHAID exist to lobby the rest of the Government to allocate funds to disaster relief?
