Quote from: King Txec on Yesterday at 12:24:16 PMWell this is certainly an interesting thing to come up. Has any previous King ever had to make a decision about vacant seats like this? This feels like uncharted waters for sure.

The one instance that comes to mind is in the 38th Ziu, where I think the late Baron Fritz and ex-Seneschal John McGarry got one seat each from King John. (Although I don't quite remember why - probably a write-in vote for a party nobody registered, which happened quite frequently around 2006-2009 because of the turnover in which parties were around.)

QuoteI've worked quite hard to remain nonpartisan so my concern should be understandable. I do like the idea of them being new citizen seats. @Sir Lüc is this feasible?

Yes, it would be completely feasible. Although they would be "seats given to new citizens", not "new citizen seats", so they would work like normal seats and become available again should they be vacated, instead of vanishing. A new citizen would also not be limited to holding just one.

One other thing is that the seats belong to each MC, so they could ask me to represent some other entity than the Independent Progressive, despite the latter having won them at the elections.

It is understandable, Your Majesty. That is why I suggested not reassigning them at all. The seats were assigned based on votes won during the last election. The new citizens can choose to align with a party later so the concern about growing another party is still relevant with reassigning to new citizens.
