Dear members of Talossa,

As a fairly new prospective citizen of Talossa, im trying to get to know the community a little better and what everyones roles are inside of Talossa. If you could spare a moment to reply to this forum, i'd love to hear more about yourself and what part you play in Talossa.

Hi Wyatt, I'm also a prospective citizen of Talossa. I'm aiming to obtain full citizenship alongside my boyfriend who joined with me. I'm really excited to get more into Talossa and hope to rise up the ranks one day. I think this place is great and it's ever so inspiring to me.

Azul Wyatt,

While I've held numerous roles over the years from Seneschal to Uppermost Cort Justice to Secretary of State, I'm currently (and have been for nearly two years) the King of Talossa.

Welcome!

Azul Wyatt! I have been a citizen for two years now and I'm currently the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Symbols of Nationhood within the Ministry of Culture; what that means is that I will basically create stuff like new ID card designs or, what I have been doing, make road signs for our little but great kingdom. I have previously served as the Deputy Minister of STUFF in 2024.

I'm not even sure how to answer this!  I've done a lot of things in Talossa over the last twenty years!

For now, I'll just say that I have the honour of serving as the head of the government as Seneschal.

Azul Riley,

I just noticed you are an ordained minister. I'm curious if that ordination came from a more recognized religious group or some other venue. I myself am also an ordained minister and obtained such through a recognized religious group many years ago after I completed a two-year degree in theology.

I hope this is not taken as disingenuous, as I am genuinely curious. I always thought I wanted to be a priest, but by the time I started discernment in my early 20s, my vocation shifted. I would love for the Kingdom to pursue some form of religious organization. We've had them in the past but they are essentially dead at this point in time. Something non-denominational would be ideal as we have many different religious traditions among our citizens, including our former king being a Deacon of the Orthodox Church.

One of my proudest moments as an ordained minister was when I assisted in the baptism by water of several people in the Jordan river in Israel. That was a spectacular moment in my life. What about you?

Hey, fellow reverend! Allow me to provide some context: I was born into a rather secular Christian household. I was christened as a baby, and attended a Church of England primary school. Throughout my youth I've naturally been exposed to the likes of theology and specifically Christianity, though I've always questioned religion. I've grown up thoroughly exploring the depths of philosophy and Abrahamic religion, extending from Islam to Christianity, etc.
In more recent years I had this drive to closen my relationship with the teachings of Christ and follow in the fundamental principles of the Bible, having rather liberal views subject to my experiences with homosexuality and so on. Very recently, me and my boyfriend applied together for ordainment. The spiritual connection it brought was a big appeal for both of us. Not only does the title carry a heavy range of duties but, on a more broad level, comes with immense honour and brings immeasurable pride.

---> That's such a shame religious is practically dead in Talossa. It was something I had considered upon immigrating and would be cool to integrate as has been done before.

---> Exactly what I was thinking. A set religion in the sense that the United States is 'One nation under God' is almost marginalistic, especially where Talossa is built of the backs of immigration and unison from around the world: multiculturalism is key, and certain religious groups in the nation could enhance unity for sure.

---> Wow, that's certainly the dream for any ordained minister. Neither me nor Wyatt have had the privilege to carry out any material duty of ministry, but certainly plan on doing the title proud as we navigate what life has laid out for us. I've attended many baptisms and it certainly inspires me to do good and helps to understand what benefits we can bring.
