Urgent Call to Action to the Grand Coalition

I've noticed zero discussion of an activity crisis since government formation. No royal commission, etc. We have also seen a rise in new citizens with no real increase in activity. I urge the King and the Government to recommit to addressing the terminal quiet in the country. For new citizens we should consider an extended "shepherd" that helps identify their interests and help directly connect them to ongoing activities or how to start new ones. We might also consider making the Talossan name and coat of Arms as automatic parts of this process (with an opt-out) to encourage Talossanization. We are doing well bringing new people in only for them to go dark only to be contacted during the next election.

If our purpose is to just bring people in as fodder for our politics then that seems to be working well. If we are genuinely interested in growing our culture then there is no much to show for that effort from the Government currently.

This is an urgent call that folks following through on the all-hands on deck approach.

Also @Sir Lüc Could you remove the Leader of the Opposition tag from my custom title? I'm no longer in the Ziu so don't want any new folks to be confused.

Sir Lüc

You still legally are the Leader of the Opposition until some other MC votes Non on the VoC, or this Clark ends, whatever occurs earlier - as I detailed in a comment on the MC for the 63rd Cosă post a few days ago.

Someone who is not a member of the Ziu can be Leader of the Opposition? That seems strange. Perhaps the position should be considered vacant.

@Moinul Moin Speaker, can you confirm that the Leader of the Opposition does not need to be a member of parliament?

You became the the Leader of the Opposition because you were "the leader of the party with the most Cosa seats assigned to MCs who voted NON on the last Vote of Confidence," and that will be true until the next Clark or until "the members of the Opposition decide otherwise by majority vote" (Lexh.H.4.3).

Seems like a clear need for updating if this allows for people who have resigned from the Ziu to be designated as LOTO. This is an odd situation (maybe only to the person who is claimed to be LOTO?)

Also weird to see no responses to my concerns above.

Your question doesn't make any sense. There's a lot of things going on, and we've gotten several new recent active citizens. The government is working on all kinds of stuff, both visibly and non-visibly, to engage with the people and bring new people to us.

If you have some material suggestions, I would be very willing to hear them.

I think your response highlights an important issue. I am referring to activity generally in the Kingdom not just government activity which is low despite the branding of minor items as remarkable breakthroughs. The other issue which was mentioned in my statement is that "we can bring new people" yes but can we keep them and encourage their contributions to national activity? How many new citizens have we brought in only for them to go silent?

On the latter point please re-read my statement with open eyes rather than resistance to a concern you expressed when forming the grand coalition. I proposed that TalossAssistants or some other kind of assistance extend their service to new citizens to assist with identifying their interests and connecting them to activities or starting them. There has been no response to this idea.

Where is the Royal Commission which was brought forward in Discord? Where is any mention of the crisis other than to justify the creation of the grand coalition? The crisis continues as it has for years and does not disappear by wish.

I guess I'm not sure what you imagine could be happening, beyond what is? You have citizens who haven't been as engaged getting involved, like Iac, you have relatively new citizens getting more involved, like Moinol, and you have brand new citizens jumping in with both feet, like Nolan. I mean, you're so busy that you need two accounts. Things are moving pretty well, and we're on an upward trend.

I will take your suggestion that new citizens be automatically put into the pipeline for other things under consideration, and I thank you for it.

I think I will submit a legislative proposal to the Hopper based on this odd situation. But it will need a sponsor.
