Not sure where to put this.

I have been a part of Talossa for a little over a year, so I understand that I may not know the full background of the disagreements between the parties. With that being said, I have seen both major parties saying and doing things on here that seem to me to be extremely counterproductive. Hurling insults at one another, blocking each others bills simply out of spite and even organizing a boycott against any and all bills put forth by the opposition. When I asked for a seat in the Cosa I did so with the intention of trying to be a voice of reason, another member said he felt the same way but I have yet to see him come forth and say anything.

This leaves it up to me, probably the least intelligent and least educated member of the Cosa (and possibly the country) to make an attempt at putting these petty squabbles behind us as a nation and try to move forward.

I have always been a big believer that negotiation and debate when kept civil can generate some of the most important laws and policies in any government forum. The best laws and policies result from a situation where nobody gets everything they want but both get at least something they can agree with out of the process. The way to reach this point is through civil discourse, insults, attacks, boycotts and pettiness just make the other side more angry and more likely to dig in their heels and react in kind.

I would like to see all of the parties work together to find common ground rather than block each other simply out of spite. Admittedly I am only aware of three parties, though I know there are more, the FreeDems, TNC and PdR seem to hold the most power right now along with the King. I would like to see the leadership of each party along with His Majesty place their names in the comment thread for this post as a way of committing to a new way of doing things, work together to make Talossa the greatest nation that it can be, create a beacon of light to attract and KEEP new citizens. So many people likely come here as a way of escaping the day to day idiocy of the government machinations in their home country. Let us work together to find common ground, let us work together to show respect for each other, let us work together to make Talossa the home we all dream of rather than a reflection of the so-called real world.

Respectfully,

Tric'hard, this is a wonderful initiative! And on Peacebuilders Day! Thank you so much. And I affix my name to it. Also, you are NOT the least intelligent. I believe your actions and words since immigrating have proven you possess great wisdom and intelligence and Talossa is a lucky recipient of it.

You completely expressed my feelings towards our current political state. Thank you! I couldn't have said it better myself.

Just bumping this in case people from the other parties didn't see the post yet.

I find it a bit sad that so few seem to agree with the sentiment of this post. 3 publicly and 1 in a private message express agreement and so many others apparently wish to keep the current trend of mudslinging, insults and generally treating each other with complete disrespect alive and well. Very sad day.

I'm sorry, Tric'hard. You deserve credit for what is a well-intentioned intervention worthy of greater support.
