Does anyone currently do anything with the Royal Academy of Vexillology?

If not, I would volunteer as its head; it may not also be an awful idea for us to delineate the Academy's responsibilities and powers a bit more clearly going forward.

It has never really existed, as best I can remember -- when we came up with the achievements for the different ministries and whatnot, it was just the Coletx at large, I think?  I would suspect it was one of those "this should exist" offices that have floated around since time immemorial and seldom been utilized (like the Chancery's office of the census or MinDef's primary intelligence group).

I would support your appointment as head of this academy, but we need proper glheþ instead of English and we need an appropriate title for the head of the academy.  What would you like to be called?  Lead Academician?  Lord Marshall?

Well, I'm sure @Marcel Eðo Pairescu Tafial, UrGP or @Iac Marscheir can correct me, but it would seem a fairly straightforward translation could be

l'Academieu Rexhital per l'Estudiă dels Drapéux (The Royal Academy for the Study of Flags)

Proposed leader title: Prevuost (Provost)

Yeah, that works. We could also look into having a proper word for vexillology -- which could potentially be any of the following: drapëuloxhà, drapëuloxhïă, vexiloloxhà, vexiloloxhïă -- and use that in the name. (drapëuloxhanal? vexiloloxhic?)

I recommend to the SKA, then, that he appoint the Long Fellow as the new Prevuost of the Royal Academy of Vexillology, and task him first with recommending an appropriate glheþ name for the Academy, probably selecting from among those suggested.

I have always been fascinated with flags but probably not smart enough to be involved in academic study of flags...I am probably the only person in the world who would go on a cruise and come home with photos of the flags of each country we visited LOL

Given that, as per Oversteir, most "-ology" words end in -loxhà (it's a 4:1 ratio over -loxhïă), it would seem drapëuloxhà makes the most sense.

Thus, l'Academieu Rexhital dal Drapëuloxhà or l'Academieu Rexhital Drapëuloxhal?

It's possible that the -loxhïă words are more recent additions to the dictionary than the -loxhà words from the late 80's, which could potentially make them higher priority for new coinages. I mentioned both options just to be safe.

QuoteThus, l'Academieu Rexhital dal Drapëuloxhà or l'Academieu Rexhital Drapëuloxhal?

The regularly derived adjective form of drapëuloxhà would be drapëuloxhanal, but that aside both would work.

l'Academieu Rexhital Drapëuloxhanal it is, then.
