Sir Lüc

Azul all, with King Txec dissolving the Cosă it falls upon the Chancery to conduct elections to all 200 seats in the 61st Cosă, to Senate seats representing Atatürk, Cézembre and Vuode, and referenda on 60RZ06 and 60RZ21. The Chancery will also facilitate elections to provincial legislatures, as is customary.

The rules governing the election period and all ballot items can be found here. A summary of rules relevant to deadlines and registration follows:

COSĂ PARTY REGISTRATION

Is open now and will remain open until March 13th. Registration can be done by posting in this thread, by PM to me, or by email to the Chancery with the following info:

- Full party name in the preferred national language
- Party leader(s)
- A 50-word statement of the general aims and views of the party
- A list of candidates to receive Cosă seats, or no list.

These must all be provided immediately upon registration but can be amended later up to the deadline (though do so by notifying me, not by editing a previous post because I will not magically notice!).

You may also provide:

- A link to a platform or manifesto
- An alternate party name in the other national language
- A preferred abbreviation or initialism

Registration is provisional until payment of a registration fee of 6¤40 ($10 USD). The fee must be paid to the Treasury before you are able to assign any and all seats your party may have won. Contact Burgermeister Sir @xpb for information on payment.

STATEMENTS ON REFERENDA
60RZ06
- FreeDems, in support: "Vote PËR. Before he died, former Chief Justice of the Uppermost Cort Ián Tamorán said: "When I have died I still want to be a Talossan". This amendment does just that; Talossans who have passed on will never be removed from the rolls of citizenship, but perpetually honoured."
- Green, in support: ""Sir Ián Tamorán is an ideal first to receive this honour. He touched so many lives in the Kingdom and enriched it by doing so with his intellect and kindess. We were honoured to co-sponsor the legislation and ask you to ratify it with your approval."
- PdR, in support: "It is only fitting that Talossans who retain their citizenship to the end of their lives should be able to retain it in perpetuity. PdR supports changing the Organic Law to enable such a state."
- PROG, in support: "Any Talossan confirmed by the Secretary of State to be deceased shall be honoured with the postnominal "TDE" (Talossan Din els Efs, or in the English language, "Talossan in eternity"). I co-sponsored this bill, as many of us did."

60RZ21
- PdR, in support: "As one plank of the Consensus Plan on Reform, we support fixing the length of the legislative term as a means to enable more predictable operation of Talossa's institutions and create more space for apolitical Talossans to get involved apart from the din of politics. "
- PROG, against: "We do not support fixing the length of the legislative term. If the Vote of Confidence is not positive, new elections should be organised."
- Green, in support: "We support fixed election dates and applaud the work of S:reu Autofil in shepherding this initiative. We do, however, view this as a first step in improving Talossan governance, as we also need longer Cosa terms. We need less fevered campaigning and more of the governance this initiative represents."
- DIEN, against: "Are fixed election terms really necessary? Nah. Vote how you wish—personally, I'm voting against it. But let's not call this implementing some consensus plan. The majority of a few people who had the time to scroll through a long, single Witt thread does not represent a "consensus" of the Kingdom."

Given that all three provinces have now confirmed to me they do not wish to organise their own Senatorial race, I think we're pretty safe to open registration to Senate races immediately.

Senate candidates can now register themselves in this thread by simply stating so (no additional information is necessary).

Can those wishing to nominate others for office also do so in this thread?

I don't think that's possible under El Lexhatx B.2.4:

QuoteAny eligible candidates for a seat in the senate will be given the opportunity to register themselves with the Secretary of State before the start of the elections

Although the Free Democrats of Talossa are not standing an independent list in this election, we are a "party with Cosa Members" and are therefore entitled to put an essay on the ballot re: referendum questions, as per El Lexhatx B.2.2.

Baron Alexandreu Davinescu

I'm a little dubious about this rationale. As far as I can tell, you guys are legally just one registered party. Whatever the internal structure you guys have agreed on outside of the law, I don't think there's any legal mechanism to announce that you guys get multiple different referendum statements based on that.
