I've been doing a little research (more on the reason why later) on our fair province's history, and I thought I'd just link the entirety of the OldWitt forum for anyone who might be interested:

https://talossa.proboards.com/board/23/benito

Some highlights include:
  • The renaming debate from Mussolini to Benito, as well as the earlier (circa 2012) attempts by a young S:reu da Schir to ditch Benito as a name as well.
  • The adoption of our initial Constitution. (Did we seriously not have one until 2008? 26 years of military dictatorship?)
  • The province serving as the host of the January 2013 Zefençadéirs del Repúblicanismeu Talossán party convention. Clogged up the board right proper they did....
  • @Iason Taiwos proclaiming the first provincial secret society (BEBOP) and a second honor, the Order of the Corncob (where you too can be a proud Benitian Kernel).
  • The Great Benitian Land Survey, which sounds like something I would have enjoyed, lol.
  • A provincial map, along with discussion on cantonal and sextieiral (?) assignment.

Unfortunately it looks like we once had a provincial website with our various laws and whatnot, though Moonfruit has apparently long been lost to the sands of Internet time, as has whatever Witt we used before ProBoards.

Iason Taiwos

At one time I had everything from the Moonfruit site copied and saved in a Google Docs file on my phone, so I'd be able to refer to our laws and whatnot without having to get on the website. I've gone thru several phones since then, and I guess I lost it somehow.
BEBOP was "The Benitian Esoteric Brotherhood of Peculiarists", and was just a joke. It is described in our Cjovani lexicon as: "a short lived Talossan secret society that espoused a bizarre peculiarist philosophy that was explained through jazz terminology. Extant records of the society indicate that it consisted of three grades, like the three Masonic Degrees, the highest grade being Exalted Parker."
The Noble Order of the Corncob is still in existence. It was also created as a joke, parodying the Order of Kentucky Colonels, and based on the CoA of one of ESB's fake Witt personalities, Benedict Stamford. So far, Vitxalmour Conductour and I are the only "Kernals" in the organization, but if any other Belacostans express an interest in it, I can make up some rules and guidelines for admission.

I got the feeling, though only a feeling due to all the dead image embeds, that BEBOP influenced the aesthetics of the NPW. Would I be close to the mark there?

The other way around, I think.
