Whereas, the Kingdom of Talossa formally established the Bureau for Humanitarian Aid and International Development (BHAID) in October 2015 with 48RZ15-The Humans Helping Other Humans Act, to embrace its commitment to contribute to international humanitarian and development efforts, and

Whereas, BHAID has successfully served since its founding as the central hub of Talossan humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and socioeconomic development, building upon the legacy of its predecessor, TalossAID, to channel the goodwill of Talossans worldwide, and

Whereas, BHAID's inaugural fundraising initiative raised US $130 from the Talossan community within weeks of its launch, marking a promising foundation for future contributions, and

Whereas, the BHAID would continue to donate hundreds of dollars in private donations and Government-allotted funds to worthy causes and organizations such as the Syrian Civil Defence (White Helmets), UNICEF, GiveIdealist.org, The Effective Altruism Fund, Major Chords for Minors, Palestinian Children's Relief Fund and others, and

Whereas, BHAID continues to fulfill the Kingdom's conscience and responsibility to the "shared concerns and common destiny of the human family," advancing humanitarian values both locally and globally.

Therefore, be it resolved, that the Ziu of the Kingdom of Talossa formally celebrates and commends the Bureau for Humanitarian Aid and International Development on achieving a decade of dedicated service since its founding, and

Be it further resolved, that we honor the commitment of the Bureau's founders, public servants in the Foreign Affairs ministry, and donors from the Talossan community and beyond, whose collective efforts have helped the Kingdom to advance human dignity and international solidarity, and

Be it finally resolved, that we encourage the continued growth of BHAID's work in the next decade, inspired by the proud tradition of Talossan humanitarianism.

Ok, this is jumping the gun by a fair margin, and trying to force the ministry down a path of your own making and not those in the ministry itself, We are currently discussing internally how to proceed with this, so this is unhelpful, and unwarranted, also it is aiming to undermine the authority of the BHAID chief and the foreign ministry by usurping its autonomy and authority. This is less like "a sense of the Ziu" and more "Instructions to the foreign minister" in all but name, and just using round about political speech, because your bitter about not being involved in planning.

Also let's be clear your starting this in AUGUST when it isn't until 1st OCTOBER that the anniversary is, if you had been doing this in September with no sign of planning then fine, but this is waaay too early, and reads as an attempt to hijack the process as an outsider

Ian, give yourself some credit here. You were one of the three co-founders. When I was Foreign Affairs Minister you co-sponsored the founding legislation as Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister.

I'm amazed that you see every single thing in a negative and paranoid light. There is obviously not one single word of negativity in this sense of the Ziu. It even recognizes the Foreign Affairs ministry and notes there are several co-founders of the BHAID both of which I thought were nice to note.

I understand that you didn't want to work with me on BHAID celebrations, which is disappointing but understandable. But it does not prevent others from celebrating the organization.

I don't deserve any credit for this and neither do you. It's good to thank people that actually accomplished something and donated, but you probably spent as much time writing this self-congratulatory drivel as you did on all BHAID-related "fundraising" efforts.

Wow, I see we are sticking with being a jerk. Props for your commitment.
Here's proof all the way back in 2015 of my work, Ian. I created the website, set up the donation drive, etc. https://bhaid.wordpress.com/about/ The website was not used much afterwards but it was a good start.

I set up a few different webpages when I was in middle school; since well over a decade has passed since then I am eagerly awaiting the commemorative SZs...

If those sites were connected to an organization you founded which contributed hundreds of dollars to charitable causes around the world including victims of the Syrian Civil War, the plight of Palestinian children, effective altruism efforts, etc?

Then yeah, I'd write the SZ, Ian.

Ok, since I've been somewhat indirect about my main point, I will now spell it out.

If you want to be congratulated for the effort of raising money, rather than actually having donated it, then I expect much more then having asked a few times in ten years and getting "hundreds" of dollars. For as much as you talk about "effective altruism" I would have expected you to realize that creating a website that no one reads doesn't count for anything.

I really don't take any pleasure in being so polemical, so, as a gesture of goodwill, for every post I make or have made on this thread I will donate $25 to a project of your choosing on donorsee.com. Let me know.

Ian, the resolution specifically mentions "co-founders, Foreign Affairs ministry staff, and donors." Am I personally very proud of what BHAID has done and what it has become? Absolutely. But it is the organization we are celebrating here.

Is there something wrong with celebrating the work of an organization which I am not sure anyone opposes?

Also, I applaud your generosity here. Here is the Haitian project I chose for your donations, Ian. https://donorsee.com/HRI Please let me know if you find it unsuitable and I can choose another project.

Another option, if you are interested Ian, is a nonprofit I founded in my home state of Kentucky in 2018, Our Commonwealth. We are currently running a STEM-education program for young students of color (Rose Dodson STEM Mentorship Program) and provide scholarships for students in central Kentucky. Let me know if you want to donate to us after reviewing information about the organization: https://www.ourcommonwealthky.org/
