Mr. Speaker,

This enquiry is for the Minister of Technology. @Mic'haglh Autófil, O.Be

Recalling your detailed and informative response from early June, as follows:

I thank the Member for his inquiry; I am pleased to report that the Burgermeister of Inland Revenue has successfully been added to, and can access, the Talossa team on DigitalOcean. He is working to connect a payment method within the next few days (he tells me it will not allow for Paypal, but we have a debit card number available as well).

In the meantime, I will work with the Permanent Secretary of Backend Administration to prepare for the transition; because we are copying the server state between Droplets (which I am told was easier than transferring Droplet ownership), this will necessitate a brief period of downtime for the nation's server. I will try to ensure that the transition and accompanying downtime are scheduled toward the end of the month in which they occur, to avoid any interruption to Clark voting/tabulation and the call for bills, but in any event will notify the nation publicly of when the downtime is scheduled for once it is so scheduled.

Before submitting this enquiry I did do a quick search for downtime announcements related to the Droplet copy but I may have missed it. What updates are there to work between the Backend PermSec and the Ministry related to the copying of the Droplets?

Estimat Tuischac'h,

I thank the Member for his question; the Ministry and the Permanent Secretary are working to make sure we understand the steps necessary, but it does appear that the Permanent Secretary has a good understanding of the process. He will be working a little more closely with the Chancery (in part due to the Secretary of State having preceded him in his role) to make sure we properly finalize not just the details, but just as importantly, on an expectation of how long the process will take. I will continue to direct the overall path but will also continue to trust their technical expertise (as is, I'm sure the Member will agree, appropriate for Civil Service positions).

We are targeting a transition at the end of this month, though a more concrete date is pending both final details and a better idea of the Permanent Secretary's personal availability for the rest of the month.
