I was thinking about you, GV, as well as our other fellow citizens who reside in Texas. My Texas friends and family live in Beaumont, and they say they've been largely unaffected by the situation. My brothers back yard is part of the Big Thicket, and he sent me pictures...the bayou is frozen over! (I grew up in Texas. When I first moved to Ohio, the locals laughed at me because I'd wear a sweater in 70° weather. To me, that 70° was chilly! Now, twenty years later, I'm used to 11°!)
