I believe that I've been more cantankerous and confrontational than usual recently, if such a thing is even conceivable. Sorry about this. Fighting an election with extremely high stakes and a strong opposition (or 3 or 4 of them?!), plus there's a baby coming in the house any month now, and a whole bucket of nonsense on top of that including the impending end of human civilisation under a wave of neo-fascist authoritarianism. Sorry about that.

I had to take 6 months off Talossa a while ago when the stress and anger got too much for me. Let's hope it doesn't happen again; but if it does, whoever takes over as Seneschál will I'm sure do a good job.

It's too bad you feel so stressed out and aggravated. The world certainly is a crazy place these days. Please let your fellow citizens know if they can support you in any way during this difficult time! We are all one community together.

The impending addition to our family is a major reason why I'm not going to be Seneschál next term; sorry, I thought that was already common knowledge.

However. This is a delicate thing to say, because I am sure that your well-wishes are sincere. But I really hope you understand that the way you, personally, interact in Talossa and participate on Wittenberg, when there is a political issue that you consider important enough to wade into, is one of the things which makes Talossa really unpleasant for me. Like, when I open Wittenberg I breathe a visible sigh of relief when I see that you, personally, haven't posted anything - by which I mean, anything which is designed to be hurtful, belittling and shaming. I was trying to get this across a couple of days ago, but you just dismissed that as "personal abuse", so I'm not hopeful you'll take this on board either.

I was just trying to be supportive and sympathetic.  But we can do some real talk about our relationship, if this is what you'd prefer to discuss.  That might be helpful in some way.

(EDIT: There was more here, but it was sincere and open and made me feel vulnerable, and I don't want people thinking they're defending the Seneschal to make fun of it, so I'm deleting it.  Leaving the bottom part because the offer is still open.)

Miestra, you and I have a long and bitter history, but as I have told you so very many times -- I generally respect you and like much about you.  We could have a good relationship.

It's also possible that you don't want to do this in detail, but maybe you still want to try to wipe the slate clean and try to start over, as much as possible.  Maybe it seems pointless and exhausting to try to pick through specifics of this post or that post, and you want to just take this opportunity to try to mentally reset, maybe.  That might be a better thing to do if you're just feeling tired and upset over all of this.  And I would also be down for that and I would eagerly agree.  You wouldn't even have to say anything, if that feels too awkward or painful -- just quote this bit and I'll say nothing and we'll both just try to move on as our better selves.  We don't have to talk about any of this again, and we can just try to be nicer to each other, generally, moving forward.
