Congratulations to the Italian team representing Benito which was victorious in the Euro 2020 final (taking place in 2021) vs the English team representing Cézembre

Cézembre citizens are crying into their beer this morning... beaten on penalties (sob, sob)  :'(
But it was a good clean game - so just remember, Benito, it's Cézembre's turn next time! <grin>  :)

Oh no no, the Italian captain yanked a running Stirling off his feet with one hand. It was definitely notable clean game. Italy's main goal was so scrappy it was sloppy.

Azul,

The Italian team has played all their latest matches without loosing, they have also achieved world class football since Mancini took over. It is a young team except two oldies ( Chiellini & Bonnucci ) which they do have a tremendous experience in football. In contrast, the English team has not got the same success as their opponent but they do have very good player, they did come a long way. All in all, the general opinion is not about the result, it is about performance and team future. There is still more competitions where they can improve regardless of what the press is saying about certain players and also what has happened at Wembley before and after the match. In summary, both teams are winners regardless of the results.

I agree. Two really good teams, who both have reason to be proud of their efforts. The English team has a bright future, I'd say.

Hi,
Thanks for joining the discussion. The other thing that the English team is facing is the spectators behaviour in regards to hooliganism and racist remarks. If they carry on doing what they did at Wembley in the final, I do not think they will be able to bid for the World cup in 2030. And surely all those efforts by the team to succeed will be in vain, but let's wait and see what will unfold in the future.
In the meantime, anyone interested by football, please feel free to join the conversation and express your views. Thanks.

This Cézembre citizen was perfectly happy with the result. Not that the English team don't deserve it, but the "it's coming home" thing annoys me greatly.
