El Glheþ Talossan / Re: ISO 639-3

The OldWitt thread about it was here: https://talossa.proboards.com/thread/7977/talossan-iso-639. Unfortunately the link to the sil.org discussion itself is dead, but I remember the vibe of that was pretty much "sure, why not?".

Azul. Pursuant to Lex.B.13.2, on January 5th I informed all relevant officeholders of their responsibility to appoint three members to the Electoral Commission for the 61st Cosă General Election. All have now made public or private appointments. I am therefore pleased to announce that the Electoral Commission for the next General Elections is comprised of:

- Myself in my office of Secretary of State, as de jure non-voting member and chair;
- Judge @Istefan Perþonest, appointed by the Uppermost Court;
- @Sir Ian Plätschisch, appointed by the Mençei;
- Sir @C. M. Siervicül, appointed by the King on advice of the Government

Pursuant to Lex.B.13.3, I will get in touch with the members and present them with a proposed set of rules by February 15th.

I mean, that's understandable, mine was an argument against "well Google is easy/easier".

I would also like to point out that it is relatively easy to edit the current form, and that Google hates transitions of data/account ownership from one person to another, of which we have relatively many. (We just had one in the Chancery and it was a very annoying process that threatened to shut me out multiple times.)

Pursuant to Article X, Section 4 of the Organic Law, with much sadness, the Chancery acknowledges Barclamïu da Miéletz's renounciation and issues the present to serve as Writ of Termination.

Having myself renounced while going through darker times, as a personal note, I wish you all the best in life and school and hope you'll be back someday, Barclamïu. You're a bright kid and I'm sad we're losing you, but obviously real life should always come first and Talossa can be all too addictive sometimes - the latter being one reason why the "you can always go on a hiatus instead of renouncing" argument always struck me as a bit insensitive in cases like this one.

Quote from: Sir Lüc on January 14, 2025, 05:58:57 PMOk, I'm also skeptical about commissions in general, but to be fair, I don't think a post-Reunision Ziu ever directly debated, examined or voted on the issue of provincial mergers, except for the passage of 53RZ01 almost six years ago.

53RZ1 was successfully derailed by a grassroots effort from people who were motivated mainly by retaining a reliable "conservative" Senäts seat. The big question is stopping that from happening again (short of going full unicameral, which opens another huge can of worms)

I mean, my proposal for a nationwide Senate* is still on the table, even if the other proposals on the table have received more attention.

*: 8 seats with 4 elected at each GE, with each citizen having 4 votes and the top 4 vote-getters getting elected.

The short answer is yes if I have time and motivation to do it.

So my (low priority) plan of action would be:

- Get up to speed with all changes in citizenship law, and how they apply to existing Dandelions;
- Compile a list of Dandelions that have no Talossan parents and have been registered over 16 years ago (14 years + 2 years no contact)
- Attempt to determine whether E.13 applies to other existing Dandelions, ie. if they are to be considered Implinds
