The final doesn't have as many obvious favourites for me as previous years. (Missing Once in a Lifetime, Haifisch, Knights of Cydonia, Feel Good Inc, Innuendo, Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors in particular) On the other hand, there are very few weaker songs too. All songs in the final are decent and nearly all of them are good imho. This makes voting extra difficult. I've listened to all the songs many times now this week, but theres still some difficult choices Im not 100% sure about. Don't worry, I will vote soon. Already know the order will be significantly different from how I expected to vote a week ago.

Either way I'm looking forward to the reveal.

Seems like a good time to kick of the prediction game. This too feels more difficult than previous years, as there aren't that many obvious candidates for last place. Still, I would expect (not based on any deep analysis or anything) the following to appear pretty soon:

Prediction (bottom third):
15 - Down Under
14 - Crazy Train
13 - Burnin' For You
12 - On the River
11 - YCAGWYW

Voting is now closed. Songs 11-15 will come out over the next few days, but I'm considering doing a live stream to reveal the top 10 spots.

Five voters (out of seven) gave it at least one point, but two of those gave it exactly one point, and no one gave it more than six.

No song got points from all seven voters.

Ranks #6 - #12 are separated by only two points.

The Who - Baba O'Riley

Well there's a big surprise already. I had put Baba O'Riley down as a potential dark horse.

Men at Work - Down Under
https://youtu.be/XfR9iY5y94s

First nominated by Iac Marscheir in 2018

Final Round Points - 21

Six voters gave it points, but no one gave it more than five. Five voters gave it between three and five points.

FYI I'm traveling without my laptop for the next week or so, so I don't have the file with the songs' original nominations.

Participation has been good so far, but I'm really hoping we can somehow get even more people this round (or maybe the return of some earlier participants @Breneir Tzaracomprada @NRB @Eiric S. Bornatfiglheu @Ián Tamorán S.H. @Iason Taiwos ?). This is the round that decides most of what gets into the top 20 after all.

I think this will in a couple more posts be the most replied to thread on witt btw...

my bad, dog

Sorry to keep everyone waiting! Doing results on my phone is pretty clunky and I keep forgetting. I get back from traveling tonight so these will resume.

I am still considering revealing the top 10 on a live stream but I'm not sure

Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIufLA7Bx2Q
Released 1978
From the album Dire Straits

First nominated by Erschéveþ da Schir in 2019
Previously #8 in 2019, #8 in 2020, and #1 in 2021

Final Round Points - 24
No 12-point votes, no 10-point votes

Remarkably, we have two songs in a row which were nominated by S:da da Schir in 2019 from self-titled albums. Six voters gave the defending champion points, but no one gave it a top-3. The multiple layers of tiebrakers here foreshadow the logjam we are entering (and will not really leave until we get to the top 5).
