The Attorney-General said she was going to apply for membership of the Bar. Can she give us any updates on what happened with this?

Could the Seneschál please give the Ziu a full report on what he, and the rest of the Government, have done over the last month to carry out their commitments under their Coalition Agreement, and anything else they have done to promote Talossan activity?

Balançeu/Balance assigns all seats allocated to @Brad Holmes
Note that on the general ballot B was the abbreviation of Balançeu/Balance, so this may total 6 seats.
S:reu Holmes is authorized to redistribute seats further as seen fit.

That's fine, i wasn't sure when i was looking the results for the province up, but if that has been the case, then of course they have 6 seats

Having been empowered to do so by our party leader, I assign the 10 FreeDems seats to myself. If any member of the party wishes to have seats then let me know and i will distribue some to them.

Hello all,
As we have just has a new election, and these are the (preliminary the results have now been certified) results and seat breakdown of out 20 seat House:-

FREEDEMS 5 = 10 Seats
B   2          = 4 Seats
LCC   1          = 2 seats
BALANçEU / BALANCE   1 = 2 Seats (also the "B" party)
LEAGUE OF CENTRE CONSERVATIVES   1 = 2 Seats (and i think the other 2 lcc seats) @Txosuè Éiric Rôibeardescù

So Could party leaders please assign seats for the coming session? (and please le me know if these are incorrect)

The seats won't be formalised until the election commision has verified the count, just thought it would be easier to start the process now.
(Results are now certified so assigning seats are needed)

Although I thought I gave the indication for this on the Preparing for the elections thread, I, as Başbakan of Atatürk, request the Chancery to conduct both our House of Commons, and Senate seat elections.

I would not say I'm an optimistic person, as I'm not, my own personal stance, is to look at things as realistically as possible whilst trying to be logical and on balance. I jsut try to be fair, balanced and look at things as realistically as possible, whilst that might not always be the case, that is my world view.
Also I would agree if most major political change in human history, throughout all manor of countries, has been bought about by political unrest, and passionate political fights and debates (look at the women's vote, civil rights (past and ongoing in the states) and other maor changes), so we might just have to disagree with. Actually calm politics generally lead to stagnate systems, looks at the US and how often their is stalemates and no progress in their government. So I cannot accept your viewpoint, i wish politics would and could be more like that, but politics should be important and ever changing and growing, through passionate debate and argument, and political fights. which is why "Political Battlegrounds" Exists. but meh, if you disagree then fine. we shall have to agree to disagree.

The politics of grievance demands ever-fresh grievances. I think the general idea is to try to provoke a fight?

I think the idea, wasnt to provoke, but to invite in a jovial way, opposing view points in thread so they might be answered, i dont think it was meant to be seen as a provocation. Also, politics is a fight, a fight of values, ideals, conviction, and passion, which is expressed through political debates (also known as arguments) to help show the public what a party is about. And without such things, then what would be the point of politics? Some people react better to some forms of engagement than others, but nothing in politics should be taken personally, no matter how much you might agree or disagree with a particular person or view point.

I was going avoid posting on your recruitment page at all due the fact this is your parties recruitment and policy thread,

I might not speak for everyone, but honestly, on this point, i would honestly welcome you, or anyone on the opposition parties, to come in here and ask questions, and share their views, so that we could engage in a debate, that will, in my view, help show the voters, what they are voting for and hopefully in doing so, help answer potential questions that voters might have that they are unsure whether to post, and having such an engagement in political threads about the election, in my view, nothing different than just having a televised political debate before an election, and i think could be vital in helping people decide who to vote for, so whilst i respect that you might feel like that, on this, i would disagree, and would encourage anyone, from any political affiliation, to come in and question out views and ideas. the rest of what you have said i will not be commenting on, but this one part i couldn't hold back on my viewpoint on, as i think what i have to say on this is important, others might disagree, but meh, to me this is a key part of electioneering, and politics and helps voters, and parties grow and learn, and shows greater accountability to the people, especially before the voters go to vote. Again i dont speak for the party, but i hope others in the party feel the same way.

Quoteor to see the Kingdom of Talossa transformed into a Republic with an elected Presidential figurehead, even if he is called a "King".  (At a minimum, we should call things by their right names

With all due Respect @King John this statement doesn't make any historical sense, as elected monarchies have long existed throughout various countries, and groups of countries, the following quote is something i found from a quick internet search, and is essentially what the act you refused assent to, proposed to do (not in the same words but intent)

QuoteAn elective monarchy is a monarchy ruled by an elected monarch, in contrast to a hereditary monarchy in which the office is automatically passed down as a family inheritance. The manner of election, the nature of candidate qualifications, and the electors vary from case to case.

Also famous examples of elected monarchies are the Holy Roman Empire, Old Scandinavian monarchs, Venice, amongst others, Also some countries even use them to this day in various forms, like Cambodia, the Vatican, and Malaysia amongst others, thus is utterly disingenuous to state that the Kingdom of Talossa will be transformed into a republic by the proposal, as it will not.

The other reason you gave, is that you've no desire to give up the throne, by abdication or by other means, then, again with all due  respect, you should not have gone on hiatus, and appointed the most political, and most divisive, polarising, monarchist there in Talossa to act as regent in your absence, especially when you were barely around before this. And its too late to start trying that now. Also their are other reasons some seek this compromise too. And you being off the throne due to absence, and controversial decisions, are a big part of why such a measure was passed by the Ziu to begin with.

Also on this :-
QuoteOn another note, it seems sort of ridiculous to me, when the law says someone has to act by a particular time, to get all huffy and offended (or even to pretend to be offended) about his not acting before that time.  If you don't like the deadlines established in law, change them.

First of all, any such move you are likely to veto anyway, and this is just evidence to the contrary to you saying to have no desire to abdicate, as it oozes laziness, and distain for the job you say you hold so dearly, if you truly loved it, you would be more engages, more excited, and more present in Talossa, all the things this statement is not. So yeah, disagree with me on my more personal views and other bits of insight im offering, but in terms of the objective facts ive laid out disproving your first quote, that i cant accept if you disagree, as then your burying your head in the sand even further, in the face of objective and easily provable facts. Anyways thats my thoughts on those particular quotes, the other refusal, im not sure if you had even read the bill, as the language in their, in my view, still ties those views to the scope of Talossan law, and is just an easy way to recognise convictions of non Talossan crimes in Talossa, if those crimes are illegal here, and those "crimes" do not contravene organic rights, and allowed practices here. I believe their is something in the bill that addresses those concerns.

Quote1. The basis of all Talossan law and jurisprudence is the principles contained in the Covenant of Rights and Freedoms.

2. Where Talossan statute law is silent, Talossan courts shall make decisions in accordance with Talossan juridical precedent. Judges may also use precedent from other legal systems with which they are familiar to guide their decisions, though such precedent shall not be binding.

3. A Talossan citizen who is convicted in another jurisdiction, by a credible judicial authority, of an offence incurring penal servitude which is repugnant to the values expressed in the Covenant of Rights and Freedoms, shall be guilty of the crime of "repugnant behaviour bringing Talossa into disrepute", and be liable to a punishment of severity in strict proportion to the severity of the said offence.

This is a direct quote from the bill, and from my interpretation, still protects the rights of Citizens in accordance with our own laws.
So i believe your reading of that was wrong, and massively disagree with your veto of the bills you have.

Anyway this is just my opinions of the matter, you likely wont agree, but at least i have put them to you, what you do with this is upto you.

Just to confirm from Atatürk, as the Başbakan of Atatürk, I confirm that we request the Chancery to conduct our elections.
