It is my pleasure to open call for bills of the March 2021 Clark.

Eventually, the clark can be viewed in real time here:

www.talossa.ca/files/cosa_vote_result.php?cosa=55&clark=5 (for the votes)

and here:

www.talossa.ca/files/clark.php?cosa=55&clark=5 (for the bills )

It is NOT too late to submit bills, of course, as you have OFFICIALLY until the morning of the 28th of this month, provided your bills have been in the Hopper before end of business day the 15th, of course. I will make the Clark on March 1st's morning and bills submitted up to a few hours before that will probably also be taken.

PLEASE note that in order to support a bill, you need to:

1 ) Be a Senator, the Secretary of State or the King
or
2 ) Have been nominated as a Cosa Member for the upcoming Clark BEFORE the 15th,

To vote on the Clark, you will once again have 2 options:

1 ) You will be able to vote in the Clark thread (which will be created later on the 1st of March), as usual. I will enter your votes in the DB.

2 ) You will be able to vote directly in the database, using your usernumber and DB password (which you can retrieve at: www.talossa.ca/files/login.php using the PSC of the election) or by login via Facebook (which retrieve manual activation on my part).

Voting is now open (or will be open in a little while) on the referendum. All citizens may vote either on this thread or they may vote using the database at this link: http://www.talossa.ca/files/ranked_vote.php. You will need your PSC which will be emailed to all citizens shortly.

The options are:

  • Option 1: the King of Talossa shall be replaced by an elected Head of State.
  • Option 2: the King of Talossa shall share power with a periodically elected Co-prince.
  • Option 3: the King of Talossa shall continue to have the political powers granted by the current Organic Law.
  • Option 4: the King of Talossa shall have no political powers except in cases of emergency or constitutional crisis.

Please rank/vote for at least TWO options. For example: 1st Choice(rank 1) / 2nd Choice(rank 2) / 3rd Choice(rank 3) / 4th Choice(rank 4) edited by the SoS to clarify that one-option votes are completely acceptable.

The 50 word statements are available at http://www.talossa.ca/files/ranked_vote.php.
Original Hopper thread: https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=317.msg1870#msg1870

Wittenberg / Can an Absent Ruler Still Be a Ruler?
September 24, 2020, 06:28:37 PM
I'm frustrated! It has been 54 days since the king has logged into Witt. Numerous emails have gone unanswered. Countless nominations have not been confirmed. When is enough going to be enough? I like King John personally. I spent a delightful evening with him and Hooligan a few years back. I know at least one person who called him recently and all seems to be fine with him personally. When will we demand our king come and do his duty?

It is with pleasure that as per El.Lex C.1.2.1, I hereby appoint as Royal Data Clerk @Martì-Páir Furxhéir.

The new Royal Data Clerk will take office immediately and will begin establishing accessible backups to two members of the Cort pü Inalt as required under law.

Signed under the seal of the Chancery, this 21st day of September, 2020.

Wittenberg / Immigration Law Problems!
September 09, 2020, 05:28:48 PM
So, with our most recent prospective citizen, I started looking into immigration law and there are some serious problems. First, El. Lex. literally references a portion of the Organic Law that does not exist.

QuoteTo wit: E.14. An individual whose citizenship has been terminated solely by effect of Article XVIII, Section 10 of the Organic Law may apply to the Chancery for reinstatement of citizenship by providing the contact information required by section E.2. (47RZ46)
(emphasis mine).

There is no Article XVIII Section 10. I presume this was an article under the old Organic Law but since I can neither find it nor is that section even in force, what follows in El.Lex. not only makes no sense but it is also most likely unenforceable.

I would be happy to work on a revision to this portion of the law if I had a way of seeing what was being referenced in Article XVIII. Until then, some of our immigration law is murky and as it stands, I can't act legally on this portion as Secretary of State.

Note: it also doesn't help that 47RZ46 isn't even in the Wiki so I had to dig through the database to find it.

Does anyone remember what it was that @C. M. Siervicül  was trying to fix with this law?
