Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on Yesterday at 11:36:27 AMJust over a week since conclusion of the referendum and I am sure there are arrangements necessary behind the scenes. Do we know when King John plans to abdicate and officialize Txec's ascension?

I've received no information from His Majesty as to his plans.

National Day of Mourning

On behalf of His Majesty King John, October 29, 2024 is declared a National Day of Mourning as the nation joins the Premieir of Maricopa, the Honorable Carlüs Éovart Vilaçafat, in mourning the loss of his wife. While words will never serve to alleviate grief, it is our hope as a nation that in time, the Vilaçafat family will find peace.

The Avocat-Xheneral is probably one of the better people in theory to review bills as they are supposedly more legal minded. Anyway, I was just thinking about your bill and wanted to provide some input. Thanks.

I've always interpreted the supermajority requirement as a method to avoid the CRL, for example, for bills that need speedy approval.

As for the quality of bills, they may not decrease in quality, but for the ease of Clarking, instead of having to search a potentially long thread in the Hopper, it is far easier to search in the CRL for approval when the SoS looks for bills to be Clarked. I really don't see how this bill simplifies anything at all. Keep in mind, this is just my two cents.

By doubling the time in the hopper and eliminating the CRL, I worry that the quality of bills that make it onto the Clark may suffer. If nothing else, the CRL has worked well in making sure that bills are properly formatted and are essentially error free. I can't recall any bill that was not sent to the CRL that did not ultimately gain approval.

Additionally, the language you are using now would basically require a supermajority of the Cosa before bills can even be Clarked at all. That language was left intact to allow for bills to effectively short-circuit the process of the CRL and get onto the Clark. Your new language has the same effect as having a CRL as the same three people still have to approve a bill.

Basically, from what I can see, all this proposal does in essence is double the time in the Hopper while keeping the same 3 person approval firmly in place, just not in a different thread.

Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on October 27, 2024, 03:32:25 PM@Zilect Uómbat Firă Well, while we wait for King John to abdicate and make Txec's ascension final I have an update. We do actually have a constable: @Dame Litz Cjantscheir, UrN

In light of this, I wanted to confirm you would still prefer for me to petition Txec once he is officially king?
I'll defer to your discretion

I looked back and Dame Litz was confirmed as Cunstaval at the same time I was made Cunstaval of Vuode. I don't think I would look kindly on naming a new Cunstaval without the existing one either no longer active or voluntarily resigned.

Awesome, thanks. Fiverr is a pretty cool resource. I've used it in the past myself. Thanks Dean.

Thank you Sir Cresti!

No, I wasn't aware of that. For a while I was playing a game that had some crossover elements including The Cerritos and several of the characters.

Yes, I love the show! I've been a little annoyed watching it recently only because I use closed captioning due to hearing loss and the captioning has been out of sync. Not the fault of the show, but it makes it less enjoyable. Nevertheless, even my wife Chelli loves it, and she does not love most SciFi stuff.

Sir Luc da Schir, Deputy Secretary of State, will be administering the 4th Clark of the 60th Cosa. As Secretary of State, I will be monitoring for any issues that may arise but as I am now the Heir Presumptive I am taking a less active role in the Chancery in preparation for Accession.

Should anything change, I will make the appropriate announcement.

I think they may be waiting until the change in kings but I could be wrong.

Statement from The Heir Presumptive

WHEREAS to say the past few months have been a rollercoaster of a ride after His Majesty King John's special decree, would be an understatement; and

WHEREAS since that time, I have been preparing for Accession and among the preparations are preparing myself mentally and emotionally for the transition;

THEREFORE, effective upon the abdication of HM King John and my Accession to the Throne, I will be resigning from the offices of Secretary of State, Squirrel Viceroy of Arms, Captain of the Royal Zouaves, Constable of Vuode, and any other office I hold, with the exception of The Rouge Elephant Herald. I will be retaining my status with the Coletx d'Armeux Rexhital; and

ALSO, I resign immediately from my membership in the Free Democrats of Talossa. I take this step now instead of waiting for accession in order to help me transition from the ideals of partisanship to those of neutrality. While I've (almost) never engaged in partisan politics, I will find this transition to be the most challenging of all and I pray my fellow Talossans grant me grace as I adjust to the new normal.

I guess we could call it a royal prerogative and leave it up to me to decide :-)
