Quote from: C. M. Siervicül on October 25, 2024, 04:17:38 PMCongratulations, Sir Txec!

Thank you Sir Cresti!

No, I wasn't aware of that. For a while I was playing a game that had some crossover elements including The Cerritos and several of the characters.

Yes, I love the show! I've been a little annoyed watching it recently only because I use closed captioning due to hearing loss and the captioning has been out of sync. Not the fault of the show, but it makes it less enjoyable. Nevertheless, even my wife Chelli loves it, and she does not love most SciFi stuff.

Sir Luc da Schir, Deputy Secretary of State, will be administering the 4th Clark of the 60th Cosa. As Secretary of State, I will be monitoring for any issues that may arise but as I am now the Heir Presumptive I am taking a less active role in the Chancery in preparation for Accession.

Should anything change, I will make the appropriate announcement.

I think they may be waiting until the change in kings but I could be wrong.

Statement from The Heir Presumptive

WHEREAS to say the past few months have been a rollercoaster of a ride after His Majesty King John's special decree, would be an understatement; and

WHEREAS since that time, I have been preparing for Accession and among the preparations are preparing myself mentally and emotionally for the transition;

THEREFORE, effective upon the abdication of HM King John and my Accession to the Throne, I will be resigning from the offices of Secretary of State, Squirrel Viceroy of Arms, Captain of the Royal Zouaves, Constable of Vuode, and any other office I hold, with the exception of The Rouge Elephant Herald. I will be retaining my status with the Coletx d'Armeux Rexhital; and

ALSO, I resign immediately from my membership in the Free Democrats of Talossa. I take this step now instead of waiting for accession in order to help me transition from the ideals of partisanship to those of neutrality. While I've (almost) never engaged in partisan politics, I will find this transition to be the most challenging of all and I pray my fellow Talossans grant me grace as I adjust to the new normal.

I guess we could call it a royal prerogative and leave it up to me to decide :-)

Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on October 22, 2024, 02:12:19 PMAhem, I would also like to make a media request? Perhaps, Fora Talossa could broadcast your first Independence Day message?

Sure. I hadn't planned specifically to read it on camera, and I KNOW I will butcher the Talossan peppered throughout it, but I don't see why not.

Quote from: Barclamïu da Miéletz on October 22, 2024, 01:37:08 PMI think I've said it somewhere but I'm really looking forward to transmitting the coronation on my channel. Could I be notified in advance of necessary preparations for the transmission?

Once we have something firm, we'll let you know. As it stands, I have no real idea of when the actual coronation could occur. However, I'd also be happy to do an interview with you for your channel upon my accession also.

On another thought along this line, I believe we need MORE virtual meet-ups and get togethers. We should be holding Living Cosas, and I as king will be present at as many of them as I can be. Seeing each other humanizes us.

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on October 22, 2024, 01:53:07 PMGenerally speaking, I think that people only have ever used Ian I when they were not actually aware of the conventions that are typical. I think we should probably stick with the traditional use, where you would just be King Txec.

Yes, my thoughts exactly.

Has there been any progress in the supporters and the crest for my arms? Also, I need a little help in translating into Talossan the blazon of both the arms and the badge.

What are the thoughts of everyone in regard to a regnal ordinal? Most monarchies only employ an ordinal if more than one monarch has used the same name. However, it seems like a Talossan tradition that kings use an ordinal even if there is no one after them with the same name. I see John I or Ian I in use sometimes. My personal opinion is I will be simply Txec and not Txec I but if the general consensus is different, I'm good with that also.

While we wait, is there a candidate? Nothing stops me from adding it to my already prepared Accession Honours.
