My main machine is Windows, but my laptop is ChromeOS (which is Linux!) and my other laptop is Ubuntu.
Interesting. And I also find it interesting how the prime minister actively responds to others hahahah. Thank you

We are all typically a friendly bunch and want our prospective to feel welcome!

Just as a point of protocol, typically discussions within the Coletx are among members. I'm sure the Squirrel Viceroy won't object too loudly, but just keep the norms we operate under in mind S:reu Malt.

Some years back I received this award for helping my wife, Queen Chelli, immigrate. More recently I was instrumental in helping my brother Pol immigrate as well.

I would love for us to do more stuff like this, including some form of medal for members of the Orders of Chivalry, though that can wait.

I think the main thing I want to preserve is making sure that anything the provinces do or ask myself or a Cunstaval to proclaim is organic. Perhaps those sections can be reworded to that purpose? I just don't want the provinces to face Cort battles if something goes awry.

The Cunstavál Reform Amendment

Whereas the role of Cunstaval is decades out of date and mostly out of use, and yet there is a place for His Majesty in every province, and

Whereas the provinces are probably best-equipped to decide what the role might be, and

Whereas the limit on cross-provincial power seems unnecessary at this point, since we don't know what provinces will want to be doing,

THEREFORE the fourth section of the ninth article of the Organic Law, which currently reads

Quote1. Every royal power that the King possesses as granted by this Organic Law shall also apply to the provincial governments; with the exception that the provincial royal powers need not include a right of dissolution if provincial elections are held concurrently with Cosâ elections.

2. The King may appoint a Cunstavál (or Constable) for any Province to exercise these powers on his behalf, for a term not exceeding three years. The King may reappoint a Cunstavál. The terms of existing Cunstaváis shall expire no later than three years after the adoption of this amendment.

3. Until such time as the King or Cunstavál proclaims a provincial constitution providing otherwise, the King or Cunstavál shall serve as Military Governor and may exercise all the powers of the provincial government.

4. The King or Cunstavál shall not proclaim any provincial constitution, nor shall any province pass a constitutional amendment, which conflicts with any provision of this Organic Law or with any other national law.

5. The King or Cunstavál shall not proclaim any provincial constitution which has not been approved by a referendum in which at least either a majority of all citizens of the province or a two-thirds majority of votes actually cast is in favor of the constitution.

6. No person shall be at the same time Cunstavál of one province and the leader of the provincial government of another province.

shall be amended to read

Quote1. Every royal power that the King possesses as granted by this Organic Law shall also apply in a commensurate fashion to the provincial governments.

2. The King may appoint a Cunstaval (or Constable) for any Province to exercise these powers on his behalf.  A province may pass laws setting a term of office for its Cunstaval, specifying who is disqualified from the role, and assigning the Cunstaval a role in their government.  Unless otherwise fixed by national or provincial statute, the term of office shall be three years.  No person shall be at the same time Cunstaval of one province and the leader of the provincial government of another province.

Frankly, if we simply deleted sections 3, 4, and 5 it would achieve what I believe both the Seneschal and the MC are looking for. My preference is to simply delete the provision about military governors and adjust section 2 to remove the last sentence.

I don't see the harm in keeping the sections regarding new constitutions and keeping things organic.

Quote from: Mximo Malt on January 19, 2026, 07:06:26 PMHow does one be a citizen of two provinces simultaneously?

They can't. The custom is for a Cunstaval to be a citizen of a different province than the one they reside in.

Quote from: Béneditsch Ardpresteir on January 14, 2026, 12:44:54 PMI'd take on this project, but I must caution the prospective armiger that Purpure (Purple) is a shade that is hardly allotted in Talossa.

BenArd, the SKA

Do you know why that is?

From my understanding, our rules of heraldry state that the use of purple is to be mildly discouraged. This likely stems from the fact that purple has traditionally been reserved for royalty.

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN-GC on January 16, 2026, 02:28:07 PManother weakness it shows is that s.4 is entirely in the passive voice - it doesn't say who administers Talossawiki.

I noticed that but it really wasn't my place to change the wording and indeed probably not even my place to edit the grammar, but the English teacher in me couldn't resist so I hope the MC didn't mind.

WHEREAS our TalossaWiki media contains many pages which are supposed to neutrally and factually detail many aspects of Talossa and its activity, and should not contain political attacks, nor harassing statements;

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that Article "J. Wittenberg" of the Statutory Law is renamed "J. Wittenberg and TalossaWiki", and is amended by the addition of the following articles:

4. A wiki tool, called "TalossaWiki" is made available to all Talossan citizens, allowing them to create and enrich pages related to all aspects of our kingdom, including entities such as the State, the Government, the Provinces, culture, politics, the law, and pages providing biographies of Talossan citizens,
5. The update of all Wiki pages is made voluntarily by citizens of Talossa.
6. The sections of TalossaWiki which provide vital information must remain neutral and objective and shall report facts and not opinions. Inclusion of opinions should be limited to political party members on their specific political party pages, or to citizens on their own personal citizen pages.
7. Any citizen or group of citizen who feels attacked or insulted by a comment on any Wiki page can raise a case to the Court of Justice, after unsuccessful attempts to solve the matter by discussion.

Notwithstanding the several grammatical errors which I presume would be fixed before Clarking, clause 7 is way too vague. Feeling attacked or insulted should never be grounds for a criminal case. Insults occur all the time, so should any insult anywhere be grounds for a criminal case? I think that terms such as libel would be more effective and much more in line with Organic law (not to mention more easily defined by a Cort or legal representative).

Also, I've bolded the grammar errors so they can be fixed (I also know that English is not your first language so errors are completely understandable). The English teacher in me couldn't help notice. For example, only proper nouns should be capitalized, and words like "citizen" and "political party" are not proper nouns. Later today, if you would like, I can make the edits for you and repost the bill in this thread.

As it premieres one day after my birthday (which is tomorrow) I plan on cracking open my new bottle of Scotch and watch it. I love that The Doctor from Voyager is in this show and I'm very curious to see Holly Hunter in it as well.

Wittenberg / Re: [Appeal] Donations to the BHAID
January 13, 2026, 01:09:31 PM
Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on January 13, 2026, 11:36:20 AMI am re-upping this appeal and think it is a good idea to encourage the donation from the funds raised go to cancer research as the scourge has touched the lives of many Talossans.

Please do join me in contributing.

Donating is a worthy cause. While the Queen and I donated a couple thousand dollars to charity last month I don't know if we will be able to give to this concern (I donated $300 to the American Cancer Society as one of the donations), but I do encourage Talossans in general that when possible, giving to those in need is always a good thing to consider doing.
