Another way is to just have everyone who would be running individually be on the same pseudo-party slate, with a maximum number of seats per person, totaling to a contextually-appropriate number, and the rest going unfilled. I'll even pay that pseudo-party's fee.

Welp, I guess this idea's already dead.

The idea isn't so much strengthening individuals as it is to get new parties without pre-existing rivalries to join the Cosă, while giving the existing parties a chance to cool off and take a break from each other, if you like. That last bit is covered by excluding current members of existing political parties from forming or joining new parties.

Wittenberg / A suggestion regarding the Cosă

So, it seems to me that Talossan politics is pretty fractured. The two main parties hate each other enough that one of them nearly formed a government with and gave a cabinet position to an antidemocrat.

These two parties won't be able to form a majority without some kind of reconciliation, which neither seems willing to do. Thus, however the deadlock gets resolved, I'd like to propose the following.

Whenever elections are next held, I propose that every currently extant party in Talossa agree to suspend their campaigns for a period of one Cosă term, with every person seeking membership in the Cosă for that term who normally does so under the banner of a currently extant party instead running as individuals, and every such member thereafter voting according to their conscience, rather than their party affiliation.

I am not currently a member of any political party and have nothing to gain from any party's accession to this agreement. I'm just thinking a reset of some sort wouldn't go amiss.

Don't anybody let it be forgotten how he sees himself.

My guy, it doesn't take anyone casting you as anything but what you are for your authoritarian politics to be objectionable. Absolute monarchists could be the ruling majority and they'd still be repugnant.

With apologies, I believe it would be best to forfeit my games, including my current one against Glüc. Just can't really expect people to be down to play on a day's notice or less.

Mayhaps could match people on a bye against my would-be opponents?

Apologies for the delay. With 0 votes for and 0 votes against, the resolution of confidence in the current governor passes.

I'd first like to follow up on the Cort's advisory opinion by accepting @Miestră Schivă, UrN-GC's assignment of the ¡AVANT! Coalition's 1 seat to @Açafat del Val.

However, I'd still like to introduce a revision to the Constitution.

The updated seat distribution is as follows:

Governor - 1 seat
Mximo Carbonèl - 3 seats (senator's seat + Green Party's 2 seats)
Açafat del Val - 2 seats (¡AVANT!)
Vacant - 2 seats - Progressive Alliance (I guess we're kinda past the deadline for assignment.)

@King Txec
We do have all the facts, and the fact is, we don't need AI here. I'm not making idle threats over petty fears. I sincerely believe—and I have the past 10 years of cycles of tech-hype, FOMO and starry eyes followed by reality checks to back me up on this—that taking this "opportunity" would at the very least be a massive mistake, and at the worst, possibly become a catalyst for something that destroys the nation completely.

We're nothing but press-piggies to them, and you're letting yourself be used.

If the government tries to install a chatbot as a government official, I'll find a way to file suit, and if that doesn't fix the problem (because, yes, AI is a problem, not a solution), I'll renounce my citizenship, likely for good if there actually is any publicity.

These are the stakes, and I know they are low. I know Talossa would quickly move on without me. But that's integrity: Doing the right thing when you know nobody cares.

Inherent to this proposal is the idea of letting journalists write publications based on the output of a chatbot that, again, nobody has any control over. It's a massive publicity disaster waiting to happen, and that's before you consider that the publicity would mostly attract people who care more about hyping the AI than the nation.
